Incredible find John. The bone, the bolsters, flush square joints... AND ETCHED! I don't know how you find em.The Walden barlow showed up today, really blown away by it. All steel construction, flush and square joints, really nice pick bone covers and a very faint etch that says "Cherokee". Did not see the etch until checked it with a magnifying glass.
Petty sure this barlow is very old, pre 1900.

Nice knife, Cal!! Looks uncarried/unused!!!There have been some very nice Schrade Walden 804 whittlers shown recently. Here is another one, early 1950s, I think, with Fosterene covers (I think).

I agree, looks like bone to me too. If that's delrin, it's some of the best looking I have seen.Speaking of 804's
I just got this one today. It was listed as Delrin covers on the auction site but it sure looked like bone to me so I took a chance. I got it for a great price. Still had factory edges on it although I've since sharpened it up as I intent to carry it. I was surprised to see that they didn't pin the shield on the 804's even although the liner is drilled for one.
Great walk and talk and nice peachseed bone.

Cal, That's a real sweetheart of a Knife matey- as Charlie said it looks unused!! Fantastic having all the paperwork and Box too!
Steve- What a great gamble- most if the time it's the other way as a Knife being advertised as Bone when it is Delrin- That's lovely Peachseed Bone on that lovely example,
Thanks Charlie. You have some fine examples! Double bump is a good name for it.These two shields were exclusive to Empire for decades!! I call yours (and mine) the "double-bump" shield!!!

“Double bump” reminds me of a gal named Chesty LaRue that worked at a place near the county line back in the day…Thanks Charlie. You have some fine examples! Double bump is a good name for it.
