"Old Knives"

This one I do know about, I bought it in a Katmandu knife makers market on a trip to Nepal in '87, I bought two knives that day, the kukri for £2 and a Lovely EDC with bone handle and silver filigree scabbard which I paid £25 for. Guess which I cannot find?

Handle was described to me as water buffalo and a traditional Ghurka pattern. I lost the little attached knife and sharpener over the years and the brass fitting at the bottom of the sheath came off in some rucksack or other, but it's still a solid workhorse.

Wish I followed this thread before. I love Elephant Toenail/Sunfish/Sleeveboard knives. I searched back and many of the old knives that were posted do not show anymore. I have some of the first GECs in these patterns, but don't feel like they qualify for this thread. Would love to see some older ones of these patterns posted.

Wow, Duncan, I've never seen a teardrop with that blade combo, terrific find!
That's a beauty Duncan !
Thank you Gentlemen! :) It's kinda cool eh!
Jeff - there is a version of this in the Schrade Cutlery Co. Catalog E with a Shield though, and I think with this being Peachseed Bone- the one in the Catalog would probably be the pre- Peach Seed Bone.

You don't see too many of these, so I'm very happy to have snagged this one off the bay. 1951-'54 Queen pattern #49 jumbo stockman in natural burnt winterbottom bone and 440C stainless. Looks to be unused, with just the lightest blade rub on the spey.

Jeff - this one is in Beautiful Condition - wow!

Thank you Charlie - I really like seeing her in the Garden, and I see a Knife lying there, she certainly has developed a like for her Knives - mine? "Duncan - it's just another Knife" she tells me, as I am trying to deliver the message of the beauty that I see in a particular Knife.🤣

Here is ( what I thought at least ) is a nice Bare-head Teardrop Sheepsfoot Jack with Peach-Seed Bone that was covered in Paint- and still needs many "goes over" with the Bamboo to remove more of the minute specs still remaining.
Gorgeous Peach-Seed Bone!!!
Brass Liners, Steel Bolsters, Sheepsfoot Main with lovely Swage work and a long pull, Shapleigh Tang Stamp made by Schrade of course, has History on it, and a smashing Walk and Talk that was introduced merely with the aid of Mineral Oil that most probably had not been in these joints for 50+ years. I think this is a Neat Old Knife that still has most of the Steel it left the factory with Carbon Spotting to let you know this Ol' Dog has been round the Block a few times, but has a lot of fight left within.
