Beautiful find! Congrats! I'm puzzled with the attribution here: swell end (or unequal ends?) balloon frame, three blades that doesn't match nor stockman, nor whittler config. What's the springs construction?Nice condition Camillus short line 72 whittler, full blades with original finishes.

Sweet 72 Augie matey- Aren't they just a great patterned knife!
Beautiful find! Congrats! I'm puzzled with the attribution here: swell end (or unequal ends?) balloon frame, three blades that doesn't match nor stockman, nor whittler config. What's the springs construction?
So main blade rests on one spring only? That's a rare encounter for sure.2 spring construction not split
Not necessarally. So main blade rests on one spring only? ...
I'm afraid I can't help with the date of your knife, but here's one that's similar. That one I deem one of the most pleasing finds of mine. Rob Klaas, Ohligs, Solingen on the mark side, two cranes (kissing cranes) on the pile side.

As usual, I keep find knives that can't be properly dated using both Goins and Levine, lol. Robert Klaas is a famous maker, but still I couldn't narrow it down at leas to a decade or so. No info on when they used short "Rob" instead of "Robert", nor the cranes look identical to any pictured iteration of 'em.

So typical stockman/cattleman configuration/layout?Main is on its own spring, secondaries are on opposite sides of ends of the other.
Exactly, but with whittling blades. So typical stockman/cattleman configuration/layout?

Nice Klaas Pocket Knives, they certainly made a great knifeI'm afraid I can't help with the date of your knife, but here's one that's similar.
It's got an even weirder abbreviation: ROBT
It's a mystery to me.

Thanks, they are not your traditional whittler, they are unique and probably called whittler due to the blade combination, coping, pen and clip. 2 spring construction not split.

Camillus called it a Carpenters Whittler
Just so, Steve!!! It's funny how reference names change over the decades, as does a lot of the English languageW.Winsted CT. Three-blade with Carpenter blades in a swell-center handle!!!
A non-split spring whittler!!!
