"Old Knives"

H. Boker & co. I received in the mail today. Definitely a nail breaker, and makes a huge thwack when I open it. Nice perk is it has half stops on both blades.

Jason,
As a lover of trappers, that is absolutely the best example of a dog leg trapper I've ever seen. The stag is gorgeous, the blades are full and I love those nail nicks. I feel like I should write it a love letter, like a thirteen year old girl writes Justin Beeber. Good work and good find.

Now that is @#$* beautiful. The handle shape and color, teardropish, top bolster, scales, blade shape on the 'clip', and 4 - 1/2 inches really

Edit: Ranchman....love letter to Beebler...so funny

Bewn and Gevonovich....I do have to agree with you, once again our good ol' buddy Jason blows us away with an old beaut!
The first thing that hit me was the shape of that nail nick-..I like it!..in fact I love it!...hey Jason..what sort of year manufacture are we talking here?

Neat old Jack Vanguard, gee those blades are pretty full! and that old Bone simply has a awesome glow to it

Here's an old G&G Cut. Co. Buffalo N.Y.... "Coke bottle" Jack, 4" closed with a Sheepsfoot main. Has saber grind on the main and the pen. Ebony
scales, rounded off nicely, Very hefty knife... excellent action.

Yes, love that old G & G Coke-bottle pattern although back then it was referred to as a Fiddle back pattern..

Baker, any chance in getting a close up of the tang stamp on her when you get a chance?

That Robeson stag handled dogleg trapper is a nice one. Most all of that pattern I've seen were made between about 1948 and 1965.

I think those nail nicks were "punched" in with a press or trip hammer or some such machine. Those nicks were used, again, 1948 - 1965.

The ebony handled Wharnecliff is nice too, but are you sure about the pattern number?

Could that last digit not be a "3" as opposed to a "9"?
