"Old Knives"

Another jewel of yours. Thanks for sharing.

Mike

Axel Nilsson sleeveboard. According to LG4, this is a brand of J M Thompson Hdwe in Minneapolis. Obviously targeting the Scandinavian immigrants, the pen blade is stamped Swedish Steel.

Stopped at an antique mall with my son yesterday. I did not find much, but what I did find was neat.

I know this isn't a knife by still related. A KeenKutter sign.

Then I found this John Primble pen with the original blade etch

Lastly I fOund this Camillus Barlow. Used very hard, I believe it used to be a clip point and not a spear point. Will still make a great user.

I posted some pics in carls lounge about a week ago of some old newspapers from the early 20's, well went deeper into the attic and one of the fragments of a 1917 page had this on it. $5 with a diamond in 10k or $2.50 without the diamond...oh how the world has changed!!!

I have piles to go through, some are beyond fragile so i'm busting out preservation techniques I learnt working volunteer at a museum. None of the magazines or papers go past about the mid 30's that I've found thus far.

I like the sleeveboard and Robeson.

I've had this for a while but don't think I've posted it here. New York Knife Co. moose 3/8s closed. Looks unused.

Oh yes...those Robeson's have lovely scales dont they!
Mike, as per usual....thats a lovely knife ...I can only imagine how lovely that knife is put together.

That moose is really nice looking, any idea what year that one was made?

Thanks everyone. According to LG4, NYK Co. was in business in Walden, N.Y. from 1856 to 1931 and the "Hammer" brand trademark was in use starting around 1880. The same pattern is in a 1908 catalog reprint I have, but I'm sure they made it for a while over the years.

Nice little sleeveboard, PandG! Here's the same pattern, only different!:D

Great NYK, Mike!!

Thats a real nice one, thanks for sharing the pic.
The jigging on the handle looks pretty similar, I like the way they did the jigging, seems fairly aggressive.

Robeson indeed made some beautiful jigged bone. Here is some on a larger Harness Jack.
