"Old Knives"

Well, technically he made it in the early 90's....so I guess it's an "Old Knife" :)

Here is a link to the pic in the Bose thread

so technically I'm not posting a custom knife in this thread!

Clever!! That's why Campbell is a lawyer!
:D:D

Nice Rem collection, Jason. Rem bone differed notably from time to time!

Here's the ad. One just sold on eBay for a good chunk of change.

Cool ad and knife Mike, thanks for sharing.

It seems to me that whatever flavor Remington bone comes in, its all tasty! :D

My wife got me this today:

Here it is with my other fob knife that Mike gave me, the antique store she got me this at had more fob knives I hope to go back and acquire. This one does have a stamp on the main but I need to get it under a glass to make it out, will look tomorrow closer.

Thanks Mike! really hoping to focus part of my collecting to these little knives...the chain is something else, made in Europe for my great grandfather.

Cool knife lambertiana. Neat that some of the etch is still visible.
Sad that the bolster is very rough....anything to remedy that?

Few days ago my first knife with artificial handles arrived, I was reluctant when I put a bid on it since I don't like artificial scales, but I could,'t resist the spear blade and the overall condition of the knife. When I opened the box I had pleasant surprise, the knife is in mint condition, blades are full and had never been sharpened (in fact they were dull as a new Queen knife :D), strong snap, everything tight and even the scales are pretty. BUT there is no good without bad, so the frame has slight distortion, as if someone had carried the knife in his back pocket and sat on it
Anyway here are some photos, New Jersey Cutlery, the main blade has the cutlery trademark stamp - the word "American Ace" inside wings, ca 1919, 3 3/8" closed.

The distortion is less in hand than in the photo, the blades are strait with no bend. I wonder if there anything to do to fix it.

Here is Winchester I got recently, it has stag scales that are either polished or pocket worn. What got me in this knife is the swedges on both blades and the serpentine shape (would you call ir sawbelly?). Anyway I would like to have your opinion weather it is an original vintage Winchester and about it age, and any other comment is ofcourse welcome :)

Thanks,

According to BRL this knife is total fake  So here goes my learning fee.

Wow.... I have been on the receiving end there as well Mike, Vanguards idea is a cool one. I wonder what knife the "Winchester " originally was? The main has a nice long pull, and the swedges are pretty neat as well...

I would guess the knife was made of parts cobbled together and buffed to make it all seem original. For some reason the main blade reminds me of a Remington...

I was thinking the main blade looked similar to Camillus, also Schrade. I still think the knife looks good to go for a user!

The knife is probably built from parts, though the blades are very nice made originally and were the main reason I like the knife. I will keep it as a user and in the right occasion I pass it over to a small kid starting to get interested in pocket knives, that's great idea VG I did not think about it.
