"Old Knives"

Now that you mention it, I think I've asked you that same question and received the same answer before.
At least I found my glasses.

This is the Schatt & Morgan you mentioned.

S-K that is a great old knife- what a fantastic pattern. Lovely bone.

Thanks Jack. :-) Nice collection of Rodgers knives

This Rodgers knife is a similar pattern to one you showed earlier although it is much smaller than your knife at just about 3.25 inches long. The scales are ivory and it dates to circa 1930 give or take a few years.

I wasn't around few day and .... WOW... I missed a lot of action. Great knives , truly great. Jack, S-K, Charlie Noyes, Jake, you took my breath away.

I love old pipe tools, and that one's a beauty Jack! Got a few of my own but none compare to that one, most are minging and rusty or with slack springs and butchered blades lol.

Thanks Sam, me too. I have a Richards in my kitchen table pile at the moment, but I imagine you already have a few of them. The best I've come across are the Clifton pipe tools, like the one below (sent this one to Paul H), I'll look out for one for you

Here's an unusual one.

Here's another Clifton Pipe Tool made by Dawes & Ball.

Thank you for the kind comments Jack, Duncan and Mike. :-)

Nice pipe smokers knives Jack.

This Christopher Johnson & Son knife dates to late Victorian times. The pipe tamper swings out from the end to reveal a spring-loaded cigar pincer.

Outstanding piece, SK!! That knife has it all and then some. Exquisite!!

Some very interesting pipe knives .. thanks for showing .... by comparison mine are very humble examples.
SK The Christopher Johnson is exceptional.

Witcher in "Counterfeiting Antique Cutlery" says to be suspicious of "pronounced" very clear tang stampings because they can denote a fake.
This is not a comment about Campbellclanman's Keen Kutter.

Nice knife, Duncan. Is it peanut size?

Anyone know about EC Simmons KK pattern stamps? I've seen some Simmons KK knives that don't have pattern stamps and some that have them. From what I've seen, the older Simmons KK knives usually lack the pattern stamps but this is just my observation. Anyone know when they started putting the patterns on the knives?
