"Old Knives"

Lots of eye candy today! Great photos, guys!

Robin, It looks like there's also a triangle cut out to accommodate the tip of the blade. I don't remember ever seeing that before. Neat!
Herder, Neat old pattern. Boker made some nice knives.
A Knife Collector, I think I see a speck of dirt on that Schrade.... no... wait... the speck is on my LCD screen. ;) :p :D Beautifully preserved knife!

I agree, the Scout is off the charts.....wow!! If you have more lovelies, we would love to see them. Thanks Knife Collector and Welcome!!:D

I'm sure I've posted this before, but here's another utility knife by Schrade:

Thanks Jack and Duncan. As nice as it is, it pales in comparison to AKC's Scout knife with the threaded bolsters, shield, blade etch, etc. I'm sure mine is later than his.

Intriguing bone on that Schrade Cut Co scout AKC,not standard peachseed or the older "pickbone".

I have some Schrade-Walden 804 Whittlers with the same cut-out V in the center liner. Maybe they wanted to use an existing blade that was just slightly too long ?

Could be. They went to the trouble to inlaying a very ornate shield so I thought it may be decorative. Hmmm... Maybe I have seen it previously....I didn't remember the 804 had the cut out.
