"Old Knives"

Hope you like them.

Oh man. Gorgeous Henckels knives, all of 'em. I love when stag gets almost worn smooth like the third from the left in the top photo. Thank you much for sharing. You've made me realize that I totally need to track down an old stag Henckels folding knife or two. :D

Most of mine are the little gentleman's folder type. Best I can figure, these two might be my oldest.

Thank you Paul, Barry, Gevonovich, Augie and Dean for the nice comments on the knives.

Very cool AlwaysTomboy! Always good seeing the twins!

What a great way to start a day. Duncan I share your appreciation to Vintage Solingen knives, they did know how to make a pocket knife, that's for sure. Mostly I love the whittlers and on top of it the ones with stag handles, which are most beautiful and yet slim and pocketable. I am not into pruners or scouts but I can appreciate quality when i see it, Duncan and Paul, such great examples. Thanks for sharing, and please continue :D

BTW the "Remington" can be a Frankenknife as well, built from various parts, but I'd put it in my pocket for EDC without any hesitation.

Mike

Paul and Duncan, you have been busy my friends, some beautiful new additions, and it's great to see that lovely old Saynor Pruner again Duncan  As for your LAMBSFOOT, which made me jump out of bed with excitement this morning, see my comments in the Guardians thread! :grumpy: ;) :o

AlwaysTomboy, your beautiful little sterling knife reminded me of this one. It's from a similar period... 1900ish.

Oh my. That's beautiful. The detail on that one is amazing and those blades look brand new. Incredible. Thank you for sharing. :)

I've seen similar little turn ring knives like the gunmetal one with the flowers dated to 1900s to 1910s, too, and it boggles my mind with all of these that 100+ years on give or take, these are still tight and solid little knives. I can't help but think that not much made today will be in as good shape in 100 years.

I have a couple sterling handles in high art nouveau style. One of them has no snap to the springs at all, and one has broken blades, but I'm a sucker for the style.

Scott, really nice find, sheepsfoot makes it all that much better, congrats.

Wow, have there been some amazing knives posted here in the last couple days. The pen knives/gent's folders are fantastic.

Duncan - You're post with all the gorgeous Henckels inspired me to pick a couple up yesterday (newer ones, but still...). I have a stockman and a barlow en route.

Scott - What a find at a flea market. If the factory burned in 1914, it must be... well, quite old. Hotchkissville isn't even around any more. It's just a little historic district in Woodbury, CT. Really neat.

John

Paul - A bunch of beauties, but that 3 bladed Schrade is way cool. It does look like it wants to work :).

Thank you, I'm very happy to have it. It's a little tank wrapped in gorgeous bone:thumbup:

Scott, what a great find!!! An absolute favorite blade combo of mine:thumbup: congrats on a terrific knife.

What's up everyone? Been a member for a while but just now returning after a while of going dark. Life just threw several curve balls but I'm finally back. Just saw this thread and figured I'd post up the beginnings of my collection. Try to hit local flea markets when work allows to see if there may be a diamond in the rough.

I may be imagining it but it looks like a K E R on the tang....I'd guess boker too.

Here are a couple little guys I picked up recently: a Boker Stockman and a MOP Terrier Dogleg. The Terrier is a really well made little knife - it walks, talks, barks (ahem, sorry). It's a little hard to see, but the Staffordshire Terrier/Pit Bull stamp is really cool.
