"Old Knives"

I don't know what is more impressive... the knives in this thread or the amazing amount of knowledge that the members have on these traditional knives of years past. Whichever it is, it makes for a wonderful read.

I posted this one in the EDC thread and forgot to post here.

A CASE 1920-1940 EZ open Jack. Beautiful dark brown bown but with a patch on the mark side by the EO notch. Aside from it's beauty mark the blades are SOLID. The pen has been reprofiled considerably yet the main Spear is near full.

The covers reflect use as its so smooth in hand. Just a Solid yet slim knife. A great knife to carry:cool::thumbup:

Beautiful knife, and from one of the best makers.

I've always had a soft spot for the "tear drop" pattern and here is an old pre WWII model from Imperial.
Imperial is mostly known for their less expensive post war shell handled knives, but they made some pretty darn good models in the 1920s and 1930s.
This one has pinned on handles, nickel silver bolsters and shield, half stops on the blades, and an uncommon "I K C O" stamp within a rectangle box.

Beautiful Knives Guys!

Paul, That Tear Drop is gorgeous - well done matey- that would be a pleasure to carry for sure! Herder - Imperial made a great job of that one - Beautiful!

Mike my friend, You can never go wrong with those gorgeous EO's by Camillus - Love the Bone!

Thank you, John, herder, Mike and Duncan. I'm a fan of the Old tear drops as well. I have a few Camillus/USA/Imperial and Pals.

Nice IKCO herder:thumbup:

Mike, impressive collection of Tear Drops. I'll try and post the RUSSELL tomorrow, it's a BEAUTY:)

Very beautiful Case EO Jack Paul! I bet that is a sweet carry folder:thumbup: Herder your IKCO Tear Drop Jack is very nice! IKCO did make some nice folders with that IKCO in the rectangle and the diamond stamp. The IKCO inside the diamond shape is the earlier IKCO marking. I have a couple but can't remember off hand what kind of folders they are:confused: Mike some very nice folders for sure:thumbup: That KK EO Jack and that NJ Cutlery celluloid Jack are outstanding specimens. I love vintage celluloid folders even with all their inherent risks:grumpy:

Here are a couple wood handled Jacks I recently acquired. Up top is a NYKC Hammer Brand 3.75 inch in Coke bottle pattern with Ebony handles. Bottom is a NYKC 3.5 inch curved Jack with Spey primary and long pull spear in cocobolo. It is marked HSB but definitely was produced by NYKC. I have noticed on a lot of NYKC vintage folders that the top two pins holding the handle panels are typically brass and the larger end and bottom pins holding the springs are Steel.

Two BEAUTIFUL NYKC knives Lloyd. LOVE the covers and am blown away by that SWAGE on the top swell center:cool::thumbup: also I just love the blade combo on the bottom knife.

Man, I'd love to meet up at your house and gander at your collection:o:D:cool:

Neat patterns, Lloyd. The curved jack seems to be more common with a pen secondary rather than two full length blades so I find that one particularly neat. Here's a catalog cut.

Nice examples Mike B. and the bail sure looks good on that model.

Luger, I really like those two ebony folders, especially the uncommon bayonet spear blade.

Nice Keen Kutter, Jake, and great to see the full etch which is so fragile on Keen Kutter models.

Nice ebony NYKC jacks Lloyd. Here is a picture of one of mine that has the same pin construction you describe. 3 3/4" closed.
