"Old Knives"

Beautiful Case's Paul, that red's just amazing to look at!

Kevin that's a great pruner, never seen the double rat-tail small version before. Here are a couple of Ulsters that I have, the large one has similar bolsters to yours:

Thanks Eric, the red bone covers on this one seem to be really vivid so it was hard not to grab it. A wonderful pair o Pruners:cool::thumbsup:
2 great looking jacks Paul, I can't turn down a nice Case red bone either, some of the prettiest handle material ever made.

Totally agree my friend, Case red bone is timeless:thumbsup:. Love the M&G, curvy liked the famed Mae West:)

The diamond - R - diamond stamp is barely left on the top of the Russell tang (possible prior owner polishing).

Since we have a bunch of these blades together, I'm bringing back one that I posted in December to join the crowd. I date this knife at 1890-1932, as that tang stamp was used by NYKC 1878-1932, but the fertilizer company wasn't founded in Hawaii until 1890.

And this Sabre from Japan isn't as old as the others, but it is a worker.

Thanks for posting the flat sided Kutmaster! My grand dad carried one as a greenskeeper and caddy on Long Island long, long ago. Any idea when they were made?

Thanks, guys. B Bartleby thanks for the info on your grandfather, that's pretty cool. Mike Robuck Mike Robuck those are some nice knives. My research on dates, limited to Goins and Levine only, proved inconclusive as to more precise periods.

Augie - Great looking 3 blade M&G - unique pattern  ... ashame about the one spring but how many 3 spring knives does one ever see so I can see the appeal for sure;)

Stuart - Great showing of some lovely hawkbills  - some real beauties in there!

Kevin - Great old Walden hawkbill  - I have one somewhere too - the snap of that blade is no doubt a bear trap :) ... I assume yours is also hard snapping - actually heard Walden made some of the strongest snapping hawkbills out there when you get them in good condition...

Mike - That is a lovely Henckles Hawkbill  ... beautiful condition and some great gnarly stag :) ...

Since the hawkbill parade is on ;) ... Here's a couple of my new ones and need to get pics of others ...
