Most collectors are aware of the "Western States Cutlery Company" from Boulder Colorado, but less known is the earlier formed "Western Cutlery Company" which was a brand of "Wiebusch & Hilger" out of New York. "Wiebusch & Hilger" was a hardware retailer who registered the "Western Cutlery" name in 1887 (over twenty years before the "Western States Cutlery Company" was established)
The "Western Cutlery Company" from New York used a Bison head as their logo and their knives were made in Germany. They existed from 1887 to circa 1914. Wiebusch & Hilger was out of business in 1928.
Enclosed is a two blade stag handled model on an original box.

Beautiful quadruple threat!Very nice folders Herder but that pressed stag opposite end with box is just outstanding and a real prize in your collection I am sure!! Thanks to all who post photos and some information to go with it in this thread—a fabulous resource
Here are a few more I acquired at the OKCA show in April. I have had some serious health problems lately making it hard to be as active on BF as I would like at times. Thanks to the person who sold me these! You know who you are and I appreciate it!
