It is indeed a FOREST * KING. John!! I talked to the guy who sold it to you, who is my friend in Winsted!! He is an Empire expert!! He had family in that historic Cutlery!!
Some of the Finest Stag is on those old carving sets my friend . Please show them someplace .Harry That is stunning Stag to say the least.
Some time ago I said I would take photo's of my Older Carving knives / sets, Harry you told me off nicely for teasingas I said one day I will post em up, so about a year later I have them.
Not too sure why these sets dont get more of a following, there is just as much in the way of fine manufacturing of these as there is with any other fixed Blade, and at times there are sets out there that are Stunning!
To have a beautiful big Roast sat out on a Serving Tray, ten to carve it up with some magnificent Cutlery seems to be a thing of the past :-(, I just cant seem to go by these, in a way I hope I dont stop, the problem is the room needed to display if ever?
The question - is this the Place to show them, the age will be acceptable, but are others interested at all?

Thank you very much my friend .QUOTE="Old Engineer, post: 19942028, member: 395831"I had previously posted this one , but I have noticed a few things about it that I had not seen before . This old knife is made better than I had previously thought . I just wish that it had the Manufacturer's name on it . Shown with a couple of newer Stags to keep it on it's edge .
Spring and Blade Tang ends are Square in Closed and Half/Stop positions .
It has Integral Bolsters . In this photo it looks like one of them is not , but with a magnifying glass it looks solid.
The Spring is Flush with the Liners in all 3 positions .

Yep! That knife is still beautiful, Harry! Never tire of seeing it!!
