OMG Emerson knives are cool!

I'm on the fence about purchasing a Mini A100. Unfortunately, the myriad of the negative comments throughout the forum have caused me to pause. I've been spoiled lately by my Sabenza and issues with blade play and whatnot will have me cursing the gods after forking over close to $200 bills. So, please give it to me strait. Does the Mini A100 wiggle or rattle? How tight is the lockup when deployed? Can the blade be pushed side-to-side to make contact with the liners when closed?

If so, who sells a modified/custom titanium version of the Mini A100 with an awesome fit and finish?

i have a 2011 mini A-100. when you ask about wiggle or rattle, do you mean blade play? i can say theres no type of rattling of any kind. side to side blade play depends on how tight the pivot is. mine opens with some resistance but is still smooth, and no side to side play.
up and down blade play is there sometimes. and sometimes lock up is solid. i adjusted my liners, cause mine locked up too early and worried me alittle. so this is probably my fault. my liner lock still needs breaking in i think.

i guess if you push hard enough the blade can make contact with the liners when closed. the bushings are made of a soft silicone type material.
my blade is not centered, and is more closer to the locking liner. so when using my thumb to deploy the blade with the disc the blade does not touch the liner, so i dont think you have to worry about that.

liners locks are probably my least favorite locks in general. but other than that, i love everything else about my mini a-100.

oh, a smaller pocket clip might make for a more comfortable grip. but then again, theres never been a folder that i felt was actually more comfortable with a clip LoL.

There is a difference between demand from a lot of people wanting it and demand from restricting supply. EKI is doing the second. Nevertheless, they are good knives.

True. I was looking for certain models earlier this year and after not finding them I called EKI and they had them in stock, at MSRP of course.

So last Thursday I stopped by my local gun shop to pick up some .22 and decided to look at some guns and of course knives. And to my surprise there sitting on the top shelf were two Emersons; a CQC-15 and a CQC-7. This being the first time I have seen Emerson's in person I was giddy with excitement (yes I said giddy...:D). First person that helps me I blurt out "I need to see that Emerson!" as I point to the CQC-15. I look it over, hold it, open the blade and just really examine it; as soon as I got a good look I immediately ask if I can see the CQC-7. I do the same thing as I did with the other and really looked it over all while striking up a conversation with the salesman about Emerson's.

Everything about both knives I liked a lot, I can finally say from first hand experience that Emerson's seem to live up to the hype. The fit and finish was surprisingly good, I expected it to be noticeably worse than my Para2 and it wasn't. The liner lock(s) felt strong and locked up nice and tight.

Overall my first Emerson experience was awesome, awesome enough to spend the money? For me no, at least not right now especially when considering what I usually use my knives for. I do know I will eventually get one especially if I ever need a knife I can rough up a bit.

Sorry for the long story but thought I had to share.
