OMG, I forgot a knife today!

A knife is only secondary to a gun in a defensive role, and I build houses for a living so the cab of my truck and toolbox in the bed are full of cutting tools. But when I leave the house and forget to get my gun out of my speed safe..... well that's a whole new set of problems.
 
Keychain knife and spare in the car. Even then, it annoys me when I forget my primary. Fortunately that's rare.

I was in a hurry to get to a convention and set up my table and forgot my whole edc load. Suffice to say I was a bit panicked. Luckily I had , a few months earlier, decided to put a small flashlight and small Sak on my keychain (my idea of small was a mini champ but I digress) and it totally saved my bacon. It got me to thinking about the total excess that I carry on a daily basis and ... nah back to the 4lbs of stuff I normally carry as soon as I got home :D

Once I arrived, I located a nearby knife shop (Monkey Edge) and immediately purchased a new blade:D The problem, is that I need to ship the knife back home tomorrow before I leave this weekend, so I'll be knifeless again on Saturday:(

check your airlines. They are starting to relax. My s-i-l just flew to Fl from Pa and was allowed a pocketknife with blade less than 4" to be carried on his person.

I do keep both a folder and a FB in my car. Folder's in the console and the FB is on my Arrive Alive bag behind my driver's seat. But my daily carry lays on the night stand beside my phone. It's the first thing I see when Jerry Lee gets me up so I grab it right then and put it in my pocket.

But I have done that same thing you did once. As soon as I realized it, I pulled the Delica out of the console and carried it until I got back home.

As BB said... "first-world problems..."
 
This is why I don't fly any more, the TSA has over 160 cases of agents sexually assaulting and theft and still zero terrorists caught. If I can get there by car or boat I don't need to go. Look on the bright side you got a new knife🙂
