On a Mora Kick

I like Moras also. I keep a 911 in both of my vehicles and one in my shop. I have a stainless Companion MG Mora in my tackle box. I am not a big fan of Scandi grinds and generally just put my own microbevel on them anyway, but since the Moras are already so thin, the Scandi grind is easy to work with (or ignore). They're sure hard to beat for the money.

Mora knives are like potato chips... you can't stop with one... you always want mora of them!

I finally bought two of them... including the quintessential Mora - the red painted birch handled mainstay! Like the SAK, everybody, needs one, er, some, of them. Sharp little boogers, too.

Some of my Mora sheaths and sheath mods. I have more mods lacking pictures currently.

Hoosier, those sheats are great and the one for the green 760 is outstanding!

My Mora's are my favorite wood work knives :) and excellent knives for give away as a gift to family members and friends...

I am not sure you can get those last two shown immediately above here in the USA. Not that I am aware of.

I love Moras so much. At first, I thought they were actually quite ugly..... until I held one!

I've been trying to justify grabbing the "Light My Fire" collaboration.

Got my first Mora today, a Companion, and so far I'm thrilled with it! I ripped down some cardboard, opened a few plastic bags and tried I little wood carving. Great blade.

The narrow one is still availible in stainless.
There have been several models starting with # 34X. Both in stainless Sandvik 12C27, Sandvik 12C27M and laminated Uddeholm UHB 2140/Arne. I have at least 4 of those.

I can't get enough mora knives, they are great to give away too, I just gave away a few of them they are like sturdy little scalpels, light and great for hunting blades. I really don't mind the sheath either I always have a companion near by. Clip it onto my pocket and out in the woods. yesterday I was mushroom hunting walking through heavy brush etc and it stayed put despite the thick cover tugging at it, but if you lose it your only out 12 bucks. I have several of the more expensive moras too but they just don't seem worth the extra coin when compared to the originals.

Mora Sheath Mods. 2000, 711, Robust. The original 2000 sheath is encased in leather. All I did with the Robust is add a keeper with a Chicago Screw.

+1 for the Robust. Just got one in the post, most impressive. Moras are probably the most value for your knife dollars out there.

I could see getting a few more, ("Collect 'em all, trade with your friends").... :D

i wuve! my mora knife also! Just ordered one in stainless steel so i can use it for my fish cleaning kitchen duties. The one I have now is in carbon steel, hate the rust, stains.

The one I have is a Frosts and I think I paid about $15 bucks or so, has that same dark handle w/ green ends.

That sucker is scary after a few passes on the sharpmaker, probably the sharpest knife I own.

Would like to buy another, are the Frost's considered quality or is there a better option?

This thread has made me want a Mora Robust, after I swore off buying any more of these Swedish knives long ago.

@tap78, very nice photography.

You are not alone!
I got my two first Mora Robust today and will use one of them at work and at home.
Looks like an uppgrade to previous Mora working knives.
