A standard Par4 for me.

3rd guess limited the possibilities to just 2 per
WordleBot. VIGOR & RIGOR. Didn't have to
think of RIGOR because I chose VIGOR 1st.

The current NYT average for this puzzle is 4.4.

10/07/2022: Wordle 475 5/6 DANDY

3rd guess established the letter pattern and limited the
possibilities to just 3 per WordlBot --HANDY, DANDY &
BANDY (that I never considered. Should have gone
with DANDY instead of HANDY on the 4th to rule out
the double letter word which would have saved PAR.

1st Bogie since 07/14/2022 w/the word LIVER in
puzzle #390, 85 puzzles ago. Bummer!

The final NYT average for this puzzle was 4.8.

Glad to be back on the Birdie track.

8 possibilities after the 2nd guess per WordleBot but
only 2 that fit the letter pattern that I picked to work
with. The answer was the 1st word of the 2 that I tried.
There were 6 other possibilities based on 4 other letter
patterms that I did not consider which is probably what
made this puzzle more difficult for others.

The current NYT average for this puzzle is 4.6.

10/08/2022: Wordle 476 4/6

A standard Par 4 for me. Only 2 choices after the
3rd guess -- VIGOR and RIGOR. Chose VIGOR 1st
based on the lower statistcal probability of double
letter words, which often (but doesn't always) work.

The final NYT average for this puzzle was 4.4.

Yes, it was.
I tend to just go with the first one I think of. Maybe I'd do better if I considered all possibilities before hitting enter, but it would be a 50/50 chance anyway. I haven't found much of a pattern between slightly more or less common words.

Only 2 possibilities after the 2nd guess. Chose the
one I considered more obscure which was wrong.
Par still a "good" score for this puzzle given that
the current NYT average for this puzzle is 4.7.

10/09/2022: Wordle 477 3/6 Howdy

Selection of "___O ___DY" as the letter pattern improved
reduced the possibilities from 8 to just 2 -- HOWDY or
DOWDY. Chose HOWDY because DOWDY was a double
letter word and statistically less likely.

The final NYT average for this puzzle was 4.6.

Just a friendly reminder not to "spoil" the game for anyone who has not played it yet by revealing the answer or providing any tips to the solution before 24 hrs has passed and until the next game has started, which would be 0300 Hrs on the East Coast or 0000 hrs (Midnight) on the West Coast on the following day.

I made that mistake myself recently.
