10/24/2022: Wordle 492 4/6
14 possibilities after 2nd guess and only 2 using the
letter pattern that I picked but I chose the wrong 1 first.
The current NYT average for this puzzle is 3.9.
10/23/2022: Wordle 491 3/6 MUMMY
At least 35 different choices per WordleBot. At least 15
of which were based on 5 variations of the same double
letter pattern which included "___UNNY," "___ULLY,"
"___ UMMY," "___UPPY" and "___UBBY" but there was
only 1 triple letter word MUMMY which I decided to
try 1st to rule it and at least 5 other words out if it
was wrong. Just lucky it wasn't.
The final NYT average for this puzzle was 5.5, which I
think is the highest average score for any puzzle yet.

Yes, now that you mention it, I think there might have been. I don't keep a record of the NYT averages. So, we'd have to scroll back to find it.
But MUMMY certainly ranks among the toughest.

Interesting. This word is similar to the one the other day
that gave people fits but most people are not having a
problem with this one.
I decided to take a more disciplined approach to this time.
23 possibilities after the 2nd guess and 6 after the 3rd but
only 2 using the targeted letter pattern. Chose the one
that I considered more likely for the Par.
The current NYT average for this puzzle is 4.5.

the pattern "___ AU__ T." VAULT & FAULT. It was a
"toss up" to me and chose the wrong 1 first, of course.

I got it down to two vowels after the second guess, and I figured 80-20 which vowel it was, and then it was down to two words.
