Got a couple of ruts going but managed to fill them in before exhausting my guesses. My fourth guess was very obscure and I had to laugh when I saw the much more common word hidden in my wild guess.

only 2 using the letter pattern that I chose but, of course,
I picked the wrong word 1st . . . again . . .

The current NYT average for this puzzle is 3.7.

10/27/2022: Wordle 495 4/6 CARRY

CARRY, FOGGY & MUMMY. 2 double letter and a 3 letter word in
the past 5 puzzles. Strange that they'd all be grouped together
and likewise strange that only MUMMY caused people any trouble.

As for this one, there were 5 possibilities per WordleBot after the
2nd guess - 4 using the same letter pattern -- CARRY, HARRY, MARRY
& PARRY. Had to use CHAMP w/ the 3rd guess to reduce the choices
to just 1. The 5th possibility was CHARY that I never considered.

The final NYT average for this puzzle was 4.1.

occured to me. Gotta get lucky once in awhile.

10/28/2022: Wordle 496 4/6 SNEAK

18 possibilities per WordleBot after the 2nd guess.
SPEAK was the 1st one to occur to me but if I gave
it some thought SNEAK was the more "obscure"
of the 2 and should have been my 1st choice.
