On the bench or...better than nothing.

And we all know how it never goes according to plan.:(

I'd modify that to say that all plans are subject to change when better ideas come along.

Wouldn't that be lying? :o

Fred, I am just like you. Got a bunch of books with all kind of artwork, furniture, architecture, etc from that era and I have about a zillion ideas of knives I could try to make base on that.

A small update. Not much progress (although it still took all the little time I had in the shop). But it is starting to take shape. I should really finish the heat treat and the blade before I do anymore.

Thanks for looking.

Nice Patrice! That's some beautiful wood! And I love the art nouveau look on the guard! Glad to have you back I hope the headaches are better!

Good to see you back in the groove so to speak Patrice! Hope you are feeling better.... I am looking forward to seeing your progress on this blade.

Hey Patrice! Good to see you back in the shop and back on the forums again! Nice work so far, can't wait to see how this one comes out.

Wow Patrice, that is looking cool! Kinda looks like biomechanical...Maybe a biomech flower....Or maybe a Red Wings logo :P

Thanks for the good words guys!
Mike, you are actually not that far off. Although not inspired by the Red Wings logo it will be similar. Never even thought about it until you said it. Guess for a Québécois, I am a poor hockey guy. :o

Did a little (very little) work on the dagger today

It's taking shape, slowly mind you but I like where it's going.

Thanks for looking.

Moving along slowly has some benefits. Its most true when working on something original like this piece.

Good to see you in the shop, Patrice!

Patrice- I'm curious why you're doing so much fit-up work and such with the blade so far from being complete....

I like where it's going though! :)

Nick, good point and one I am sadly very aware of. I need to get the heat treat done so I can finish the blade but life if just letting me have enough hours in a row in the shop to do that. :( So meanwhile I try to do rougher stuff that I know won't be affected by the final blade finishing. But I am getting very close to doing too much I know. I still have an idea or 2 for the handle that I may tinker with but after that I have to finish that blade before continuing.

Thanks once again for the good words guys.

Looking forward to seeing this knife complete Patrice. It's convinced me to try something "artsy" in the next couple months!
