Pictures here! On the Bench

-a lot of pins. Five pins, all reduced to fit the drill bits I have, and from material I have on hand. Namely, stainless rod from SKS German fenders and a piece of solid 6Al4V titanium from a Selle Italia Flite saddle.

Nice. Some people may see a bunch of bike parts. Others see a lot of round stock! 😆

done for a bit with the 2x72 and on to the files and sandpaper implements

all done with the files, been goin at it with sandpaper. It's rubbed down to a quick and dirty 400 grit just to see what's up. Few areas to dial in and it would be sweet to call this knife done on the last day of the year

A piece of ipe or padauk (??) with a stop? I see what you did next but I'm mystified as to how with this "tool". 🤔

the black thing glued to the center of that stick is a piece of hockey puck. Wrap sandpaper around it for hand sanding :)

LA, have you received or are you on tap to receive a production DEK2 for sheath making yet?
on tap

this one's rough shaped on the machine, it'll get mounted in the vice for a nice hand job tonight ;)

Noice!

Any plans for a Ka-Bar USMC style knife build?

I think YOU would put a nice spin on a classic design based on what we have seen from you so far...
Thank you! I appreciate your encouraging words.

The knife in the video could be described as almost exactly as what you're talking aboot! Unfortunately it won't have a butt cap, but it does have a guard/bolster which I almost got fit up tonight. A couple more mm of stainless steel to file away and that'll be that part done. There'll definitely be more progress tomorrow- I'm stoked on this one. Even have a name picked out, lol!
