On the Fence About Strider SMF

I've been collecting for a long while now, and I have somewhat refined my likes and dislikes in knives, so I would rather have a few really nice ones that hit my sweet spot than a drawer full that I never carry.

Thats why I picked up the gunner grip SmF with digicam blade - and it's currently my only Strider.

I carry it quite a bit.

If you can afford it, buy it. There are plenty of knives as good, but the Striders are unique.

Ain't Strider knives known for their poor f&f ? The f&f changed or still the same like before ?

The ones I got are good.
I wasn't around them "back in the day", so I cannot say about then, only now.

All my Striders are have fit and finish as good as any custom knife. The literally have been spot on perfect.

A forum member pointed me to an SMF for sale, shade over $100 less than MSRP, so I jumped on it. Thanks for all the input.

Nice. If you don't like it, you got it at a good price so you shouldn't lose much if anything if you want to resell.

They should be known for their stolen valor, fake as the day is long, super armchair warrior founders, one of whom is named after a Lord of the Rings character, apparently because "Burger" on the blade wouldn't have any marketing cachet.

Each purchase of these things promotes the growth of scuzz in its ball form.

They both seem to have scratches near the jimping and the blade is slightly (very slightly) off centered in the newer model.

This is what sucks about being me. For some reason I spot these things without trying and they drive me insane.

Many forum members claim so.
Many forum members who say that have never even had a Strider. They just jump in and say that because that's what they have heard.

Does that mean that the knives suck? Do they have a bad design? Every company markets their product. I'm not gonna get into wether or not Mick Strider is this or that. I do know they make great knives with great ergonomics.

I can see you might not want a little tiny mark or scratch on a safe queen but if your gonna use the knife or even not use it but simply carry it around you will put way more marks on it. If you were gonna safe queen it he'll yeah I'd be pissed but other than that it shouldn't be a issue unless it's a huge mark or gash.

Both of these knives are users so there are minute marks on the blade. The blade is centered on both knives, it's the camera angle. I have a touch of OCD too and using a $575.00 knife is good therapy.
