New logo Sheepdog Bowie BT. I am SUPER impressed. I have some pretty darned impressive flippers, and this is as good, if not better, than any. Thumbs open easily too, which I can DEFINITIVELY say I've never experienced in a flipper this good. Blade is awesome, and the grip begs for action. If you're on the fence on one of these, JUMP!

Nice. I have considered the spear point Sheepdog.

I really should just officially update "on the hunt for" to a Ron Swanson-esque "All of the Emersons." Although I don't want all, my list never gets smaller really.

EDIT:
And I got a Rendition in today. I like this one. It's as big as a Super7 and has a very practical blade shape.

Please do post pics of that Rendition.

That looks FANTASTIC. Let me know if you ever let it go. Looks like it will ride fantastic in the pocket, not hogging the opening and should wave like a monster. Is it single detent like most other Signatures?

I think it is just a single detent. Was trying to see if the Hattin was as well, but my "multifocal" contacts can make things hard sometimes. I can take it apart to be sure tomorrow maybe.

I think I may have changed my mind about the Tanto, and switched over to the Endeavor. It's got the Wave (which I'm not a fan of), but it does away with the thumb disc for an opening hole. It also sounds like it's ground a bit thinner than most Emerson's.

Well, that works out well for you - you went from wanting a very hard to find knife to one available on the EKI site right now. Life is always easier when you don't have to chase down unicorns.

As for the wave, I am a non user. I know it's there, and I can execute the move, I just don't. I think I'd take all my Emersons un-waved if they came that way.

You know, I never thought to check the Emerson site. I just happened across it at another dealer. I'm kinda intrigued by that Reliant bundle on the Emerson site, though.

I can definitely live without the wave. I just prefer having control over opening the blade, and have never been a fan of blade protuberances and spring assists.

I have most of my must-haves, but I'm hoping to luck into a Micro-Commander after I get back from BLADE. I have the other four, so I want to complete the set*. I currently have an UBR, Super, regular, and Mini. Just need the Micro. And maybe one of the Multitools if I'm feeling like going the extra mile.

*The idea that I'll ever even see a Jupiter Commander for sale is a pipe-dream, so I've chosen to pretend they don't exist.

Totally agree - much more distinctive than the productions. Svelte handle looks great bolstered.

They come up every now and then on...other places, and are definitely worth tracking down. It's an exceptionally sturdy feeling knife in hand. It's one of the few knives I own (not even counting my Emerson collection) that feels like you could stab it through a table and it wouldn't be damaged in any way. That deep choil locks it into the hand. One of MY grails is the limited run Tanto with the stonewash blade and green scales.

Green g10? A "jungle" then?

I just found a Custom Mini Gypsy Jack (which is funny since the mini is 8.75). I am very pleased. Now if I can just get the full size version.

I'm trying to narrow down my hunting to just a few patterns at this point. I already have done the experimental feeding frenzy part.

I'm not sure if it's a Jungle model or not. All the actual Jungle models (to include the Jungle Commander I have) are black bladed with olive green scales. The Tanto's green scales are a bright green. I wasn't aware that a mini GJ existed. I have a standard GJ, and it's a pretty large knife, almost exactly the same size as all three of my supers, and one or two others.

It's a custom, so maybe the production does not exist? It's nearly 9 inches, so still big. The guy I am getting it from sold me the RH Beast, so he has some rare stuff. Getting a full size Custom Gypsy Jack is high on my list. Second only to a CQC-6.

A few serious unicorns (Apex) I'd love to get, but I am probably more likely to get hit by lightning.

EDIT: Kind of the part I like best about Emerson Customs, a lot of variation and a lot to discover if you dig.

Short of a Six, I can think of no other Emerson Custom I'd rather have than a Gypsy Jack, mini or full size. And no, there was never a production mini GJack. I had full size number 442, and I regularly limber up and kick myself for selling it.

I tried to get a full size production version on another site but the bid went too high for a production knife. And if I get a full size non-custom I'd likely get it customized. So after all that I might as well hold out for the real deal.

My current list:
CQC-6
Custom Gypsy Jack (full)
Custom Tanto
Custom Kwaiken

Although the tanto and kwaiken are far less of a priority.

As soon as I missed out on the Beat To Hell Tanto last year, I became obsessed with the Tanto. The more I researched, the more I wanted it. Not at all like the 7 or other Emerson Tanto grinds. Not a small knife either. I also love the handle shape. Since then, I had the good fortune of acquiring The BTH, the regular production, and the EDCKnives collaboration. My wish is to get the Custom Tanto, some day.
