A very cool antique bar! I’d imagine this is where you could find a cowboy after earning a long hard day.

The American Buffalo is a true staple of the West. I’m currently reading Steven Rinella’s, “American Buffalo” and it’s a great book that I highly recommend.

I’d like to thank btb01 btb01 for the opportunity of hosting Merle in Los Angeles, it was a great excuse to get out and adventure and I very much enjoyed doing so. I hope everyone enjoyed my posts and it will surely be something I won’t soon forget. Very much looking forward to keeping up with his adventures in Eugene, Oregon next!
WOW and Thank You very much my friend .

Really enjoyed seeing the sites with Merle, good luck when you pop the question!
😊👍
Thank you very much sir
What a fantastic museum, you've really shown Merle the sights :) That's amazing, good luck (though I'm sure you don't need it), and be sure to report back :)
I will most definitely sir. It appears at my attempt to cover my tracks deleting the images from Imgur resulted in it being deleted here! FAIL! 😑🤦‍♂️

My pleasure sir 😃
Hyesouljah Hyesouljah That was great! Thanks for taking us along to the museum, very interesting. 🤠:)
It was my absolute pleasure sir!

That's a shame :( 👍
Looks like I fixed it and brought one photo back!
Hyesouljah Hyesouljah excellent post with the museum, some really interesting displays there! And best of luck with the proposal!:thumbsup: Thank you again for showing Merle around LA and really going above and beyond!
It was my pleasure and I’m happy to do it sir! Thank you!!

Looking forward to more of Merle’s adventures!

Excellent report Hyesouljah Hyesouljah on the Gene Autry museum and Merles travels! I've been by it many times when we use to drive down to the Garment District to buy silk for making wildrags. I've never been though. Perfect timing with all the western pics, I was out chasing cows all day yesterday and on the schedule today and tomorrow too. That slicker next to the buffalo coat is still being made. I have one. Mostly I use it for sacking out colts. I always say by the time ya get all them buttons buttoned up its stopped raining around here. They are colloquially know as a Fish or a Fishskin. For your buffalo interest, couple three things I made lately from a buffalo hide. All three are from the same hide and for the same customer:

Very cool, thanks for sharing sir! I had a blast with Merle, can’t wait to see what he gets into next!

Merle Arrived yesterday. His 2015 cousin welcomed him, though we decided to let Merle rest while 2015 and I handled the plumbing tasks last night.

Today the 2015 is starting its vacation while Merle hangs out with me at the lab. Tomorrow Merle and I will be heading out into the field (but it is for monitoring, so the chances of actually seeing some interesting archaeology is not particularly high).

Good to see that Merle arrived for his next adventure! Tell him I said hi!:)

Merle got to come to work with me today. We didn't find a lot of archaeology, though I did spot a bottle base from the 1800s. Merle got a picture:
