This one has a 4" cutting edge of 3/16" thick O1, and is 8 1/2" overall, with a blade heigth of 1 1/4" . Handles are contoured black micarta, with two
1/4" aluminum pins, and a lined lanyard hole. If it proves popular, I will also be offering it in 1/8" stock. I think it would be a good all around knife, but you guys would know better than me. OK guys, let me have those opinions!

This shows the contoured handle.

This last one shows it in comparison with my old S&W Model 15.

That is a good lookin' knife. I am so impressed to see you style and finish just keep getting better and better.
Your Kephart and Scout are still on the top of my custom "Lust List" though.

Great looking work, as always John. Are you bringing your grind down into your edge more? Looks awesome. The contouring on the handle looks perfect.

The only thing that I'm not sure of on that design is the length of that first finger groove (if it's indeed meant for only the first finger and not the first two). It looks like it may be too long such that the second finger is forced to rest right on the break in the curve. Course this may not at all be the case when you hold the blade.

Either way, that's nitpicking compared to the overall quality!

wow.. another beauty John.. i like it.. very clean looking... your pics have been looking great as well..:D

Beautiful and simple. I love it.
John, I can only speak for myself but I think you are smart for doing these threads. In our economy and with all the competition you must find your niche. You need to fill the holes left by others.
I really hope you do well. I love your style, I'm a small business owner that lost my shirt last year and I'm slowly climbing out of the hole I have dug. Once I have dug out I want several of your knives.
Keep up the good work.

Spooky- yes the middle finger somewhat rests on the hump, to me it feels good, but I`m no expert. The good part is that is has a big butt

Mike - My pictures may be getting better, but I bet you all miss the stump :D

Mack - thanks for the kind words.

Jake - maybe if this one catches on I should call it Tank!

Mymindisamob - I hope your "lust list" comes true!

I can't see the picture. You have a knifemaker membership right?? Any chance of getting you to upload a pic to BF so I can see it?;)

Looks like another winner to me John, the handle contouring looks perfect !!!

I`ll try to figure out how to do it. I`m not the sharpest crayon in the box :o

Dangit, John!
I can't keep up!
I have always liked the unique aesthetic of your handles and how they are comfortable in spite of "crisp" edges and clean lines. I tend to lean toward certain contours for heavy use and you seem to have captured the features that I find ammenable to my palms' preferences.

I like the idea of the 1/8" option.

I notice the "fish-belly" in the handle is forward of center. I know you don't do things just for the sake of aesthetics (meaning there is a "real" reason) - so, how does that feel in the hand? In the plan view, I see a "waist" in the rear and a straight taper to the front.:thumbup: That is one nice-looking handle. well, the whole knife, but the handle,.... I think you nailed that.

I would be interested in one with 1/8 inch. Is that one going to e convex?

I played around with several carved wood handles, and this one just felt "right" to me.

I can go convex or V, I have not put the edge on it yet. I`m thinking that
1/8" is the way to go on a shorter blade like this, but I had a piece of 3/16" laying around, so..... I`ve been holding off on ordering steel and leather to see if anything works out. What do you guys think of one in 3/32"?

I'd really like to see ya add some lightweight bird and trout or patch knife type blades to your line up John. Still keeping a full length handle though !
I can't afford to buy any knives after our christmas spending but if I could that is the kinda thing I'd be looking for !!!

I really like that design. My one thing would be that IMHO it would look less.. stark.. if you would taper the top of the scales towards the blade. Does that make sense? Bearthedog posted some pictures a while back on how he modded some knives like this. I like the look of that much more than the "cut off" type look that you see on a lot of knives.

Yeah exactly like that buddy, when ya first posted that I commented that it might be your best yet !

I'm sure there would also be a market for a spear point version as well !!!!

I'm just glad I have my wife to keep me in check or I'd be bankrupt !!!!
