Once More, Opinions Please

I really like the straightforward looks of it. I would be interested in one in 1/8". If I get another of your knives I will have to have it shipped to me at work so that I can sneak it home and slip in the drawer. One day she'll ask about it and I'll tell her I've had it for awhile.

I really like that design. My one thing would be that IMHO it would look less.. stark.. if you would taper the top of the scales towards the blade. Does that make sense? Bearthedog posted some pictures a while back on how he modded some knives like this. I like the look of that much more than the "cut off" type look that you see on a lot of knives.

Do you mean like this? This is one of my knives that bear used to compare to the ones he modified. The one I posted is done the same as this one.

The contoured handle looks pretty good. The blade is a bit fat for my liking, but not by much. Your smaller knife in the second photo is good too.

Yeah - taper the front part of the slabs to about 1/8" at the handle/blade interface. Just like you picture below, maybe a longer ramp (less aggressive slope) than in your picture below.

It actually is tapered, you just can`t see it in the angle of the picture. I`ll try to get a better shot tomorrow.

looks great to me  . the handle is a tad unusual, but with the contours ill bet it is quite comfortable.

Nice looking knife!

I've been looking for 3/32" knives lately, for what its worth, they're thick enough for what I do and seem to slice a bit better.

No more ideas?

- 1/8" is more than thick enough
- first choice scandi grind, second choice convex
- would like to see the knife point in line with the center of the blade and handle ~ this really helps with doing fine work and drilling
- would like to see the handle more rounded with a taper in the front and back. Rounded helps reduced blisters and fatique for prolonged use. Taper front and back prevents slipping.
- Would be willing to give up a little balance for weight reduction so it can be neck carried.
- Spine looks good and squared, good for use with a firesteel and the flint/steel method.

Thanks for asking. Chris

It looks pretty burly. I like the shape. Timeless, useful, non-tacticool at all...very nice!

I'd have to see how the handle felt in my hand, but it looks good to me.

I can tell you already that I need one in 1/8 in convexed. I just need to figure out where to schedule it in. BTW what color of liners would be available.

Hope this economy shapes up, it's darn hard on us knife nuts as well as the Makers.

1/8 is good with the tapered front scales like KGD mentioned. In oak will be durable and good looking.

Man stomper you do some amazing work, really gives me something to inspire too.

Really nice looking! If I were ordering one on a custom basis, I'd request a little less ricasso, with the edge coming back toward the handle a bit more. But that's just personal preference. No biggie.

I love it!

Just as it is! I like the thickness on it personally.
