ONE EDC Knife To Carry Indefinitely

It isn't flashy, trendy, expensive, or pocket jewlery, but my Spyderco Military has been carried every day for four months. Since I bought it.

Other knives may be carried with it but it is my one constant. There is a reason it has been in production for about 20 years. It just plain works.

It would be a camper-pattern, either an actual old Scout knife (Imperial or Ulster) or an SAK of some model or other (Wenger Highlander or Standard Issue, Vic Pioneer, Soldier, or Tinker). Or possibly even just a Vic Classic, which actually was my EDC for about two decades.

My Manix 2 is my EDC every day. When I lost it, I bought another one. It's the most versatile knife I've had. It's a big knife when I need it to be, and when I choke up on the choil, it's a small knife when I need it to be.

Dave_M- Multiple carry is the same as rotation. :D

How do you figure?

I carry a Benchmade Griptilian and Alox SAK Cadet every day. That's my EDC.
If I decide to go on a hike, I'll also take my Mora with me. I didn't rotate anything, I just added a Mora.

I've always seen guys say it's their EDC rotation, when they have three or so knives and they carry a different one each day, in a specific order.

My Delica ZDP (micarta scales)

Sorry to clutter the thread, but I need to know where those scales came from as well!

My IC (Indefinite Carry) from what I've owned would also be a Delica, but I think I would actually prefer a 3" XM-18, it fits my hand amazingly but had thus far remained outside my budget

This. Not many people understand what EDC means, and have recreated a definition for it. The only time I don't have my Alox Cadet on me, is if my pants are off.
SAK Electrician for me but I agree. I get a lot more done with a SAK than any single bladed knife I've owned. If I'm carrying a modern folder it's in ADDITION to the SAK.

Yup, me too.

If I could only carry one pocket knife indefinitely, I would choose a silver alox SAK and it would be a Pioneer for me. The silver alox models hide pocket wear extremely well, the design is simple yet classy enough to be dressy or casual, and the tool blades are very useful. So easy to get a razor's edge on the blade, and it will even keep on cutting when dull due to the excellent geometry and thin stock. Speaking of the cutting edge, it's spared a lot of abuse because of the other tool blades. Sometimes you just need a bit of steel for poking, light prying or scraping, and the drivers/awl deliver such utility in spades. Overall, alox SAKs are affordable, well-made, and effective. What's not to like?

Victorinox Cadet, Pioneer and Farmer

These days, I mostly carry a CRK Large Sebenza 21 Insingo and a Vic Pioneer but if I could only have one, I'd take the Pioneer...:p

Pretty much settled on the spyderco military. I'll carry others for a day or to but always miss it and to right back. This m390 version with micarta scales and tip up clip checks all the boxes for me.

That's a nice Spyderco, Steve!
If Spyderco came out with a chisel ground blade, I do believe this could be my only folder I'd EDC.
Dave- I'm too old to carry 2 or more knives.
