ONE EDC Knife To Carry Indefinitely

SAK Electrician for me but I agree. I get a lot more done with a SAK than any single bladed knife I've owned. If I'm carrying a modern folder it's in ADDITION to the SAK.

I took the OP's meaning to be single blade folders, I guess just because that's mostly the sections of this forum I spend time at.

But my truest EDC would also be a SAK suppose, and it does indeed get used every day, in fact if something were to happen to it I would most assuredly replace it within 24 hours:

My CQC-10.

ZT 0562 - fits my hand super well, deep carry clip, KVT bearings flip like a dream, and that slicer grind is so versatile.

It isn't flashy, trendy, expensive, or pocket jewlery, but my Spyderco Military has been carried every day for four months. Since I bought it.

Other knives may be carried with it but it is my one constant. There is a reason it has been in production for about 20 years. It just plain works.

Well said. :)

Pretty much settled on the spyderco military. I'll carry others for a day or to but always miss it and to right back. This m390 version with micarta scales and tip up clip checks all the boxes for me.

Good stuff. :)

Hmmm...A tough choice. It seems that what I have carried daily for the last coule years has been my Spyderco Paramilitary 2 satin plain edge. It's the perfect size blade and handle. It cuts like a razor and I like the compression lock. It is always paired with my SAK Tradesman.

Current forever EDC is Stretch VG-10 but BM 710 and 940 and PM 2 and Pacific Salt worm their way in occasionally.

Yay, another "only one knife" thread.....

I technically despise these, but that won't stop me from playing:D

Small 21 CF inlay........done, drops mic, over.......

I've been carrying this since the (a year past) date by my username ;) ... except for the last month when I was trying out Cold Steel's new Rajah 2. This custom does it for me.

but usually this one...
haha what kinda questuon is this huh?? You trying to cause heart attacks?? Haha

SAK Soldier (the old one), has everything I need in my daily use. It's not my favorite knife, but it is my most useful and utilitarian knife.

If you could have only one modern folder folder to carry for EDC, what would it be and why?

I would pick my CRK Umnumzaan because it has a thin edge, it's comfortable, and I just love it.

Folding?

For now, I will say my Buck 110. It gets carried on my land, around my house, and when I go away.

My appreciation for modern folders is fairly recent. So I haven't owned or even handled a great many of them. I have fallen pretty hard for my Benchmade 555HG, it's the one I would choose. I like everything about it, if I lost it I would replace it as soon as possible.

I want to believe that the motivation behind these threads is that the OP is looking for a knife that rises above the others.

I'm not much help, because I'm working my way through sharpening eight knives right now, and all have been my daily carry, on at least one occasion.

For me, the answer to this question is: "the next one".

Currently, the "next one" is this:

Cold Steel's version of the Demko 4-Max.

After that? Who knows...
