one eyed knifemakers ?

Jack, best of luck to ya'! You only need two eyes for depth perception anyhow so just watch yourself on the grinder :D

Best wishes Jack! My grandmother just had the same surgery a couple months ago. She's 85 and had no problems. Drove out to my house this last weekend actually! If not then I'm sure Ernie can hook you up with a bad a$$ knifemakin pirate stencil!:D

One eyed knife making should be not problem, I'v done every thing with one eye for 50 years. Can't tell the difference! you'll be ok.

Best of luck for a speedy recovery. If you end up having to lay face-down for two weeks like my coworker did, the worst part of your recovery will be boredom!

Keep a close watch (no pun intended) on your GOOD eye after your recovery. The coworker mentioned above has had multiple detachments in BOTH eyes. Only the first had a "trigger"--a racquetball accident with his right eye. Years (decades!) later he started having detachments in his left. Thanks to science and lasers he can still see.

you are right about that - 2 weeks face down . And it is a given that when one eye goes , expect the other to also , so they did some laser welding on my right eye also because they saw some weak tissue . Well I just spent my allowed 15 mins off of my face so I should go .

I have a nice pic to post on my next break .
Thanks every one .

Great! It sounds like it went well but without pictures - It (almost) didn't happen...

i got 2 eyes that most of the time work. one is better than they other.

my mother had polio when she was a kid and has only one good arm. worked all her knife i mean life and raised 3 kids with no gov support or any support from any one.

she did not know she could not do it. so she went ahead and done want she wanted to. even now she will do things different from me or other people but she gets the job done. she 82 now.

she told me that you can do what you want to do only your self holds you back.

get well soon.
