So if you could have just one knife that you can carry (not own or collect just carry). What would it be?

Rules. Not fancy extra stuff. If you need one handed opening and a clip that's different but you don't need a sebenza or strider.
You would have to actually use it not stick it in the car and cheat with your multi tool.

Just a blade any type modern traditional tactical whatever you would need, what is it?

This is just for fun. Just killing time trying to see what you're guys amusing answers are while i wait for the ups truck to come with my new zt 0350 sometime this evening.

The knife I would pick is a Kershaw skyline. Because if I'm always going to carry it I want it to be thin light and it needs one handed opening and closing so I can use it at work.

Since you said knife I can carry, I will pick a folder since I can carry that every where with me. No fixed blades at work, not even supposed to have a folder but they don't really say anything about that.

Easy pick for me. Benchmade Adamas 275

Best folder I have ever owned. The only knife I would even consider to replace it would be a Demko AD-10, and I can honestly say I don't know if that would kick the Adamas out of my pocket.

My adamas was in its place in my pocket today as well.

but I think the benchmade 710 is an overall perfect knife,

Easy: Benchmade 530-1303 w/out clip.

Second choice: reg. production 530.. Both are perfect for EDC IMO

If there wouldn't be any legal problems, I would happily EDC my Cold Steel Leatherneck SF.

For now, assuming this hypothetical situation does not change any laws or the attitudes of sheeple, let's go with the Recon 1. It's a great knife.

I've got plenty of knives more expensive than this, but the Recon 1 is still my favorite folder. It just works. And it'l keep working no matter what I throw at it.

Extrema Ratio Nemesis

That's Is, until I get my Strider SMF from the mail :)

I would have no problem carrying and using a Sebbie or Strider but if they are off limits as answers then I choose the Paramilitary 2 or an FFG Manix 2. My absolute favorite mass production knives. I literally love everything about them.

The reason behind no sebenza or strider and stuff like that is because it takes the fun ans variety out of people's answers. Everyone just says that. No one in any shape or form needs a strider or sebenza. Sure some people do need higher end stuff then others. But you have people who use their strider to open envelopes, cut a Apple and other stuff that just is over kill to use that. This is a function over fashion choice, what do you need not what do you think you want to carry cause you have 10 grand in knives.

I have a strong dislike for Strider, and Chris Reeve's knives, while nice, don't appeal to me, especially for the price. I like my Recon 1 just fine.

I like cold steel. I don't carry any and only have one but that's just because I don't care for the lock. While strong it's kind of inconvenient for me

I'm torn, first thought is my sprint run spyderco military in cpm m4 steel. I think it's the perfect working knife. big and strong enough to handle being used hard and dirty, day in and day out. yet it rides thin and light in pocket, and has a fine tip and slicier edge geometry making it a good choice for delicate tasks despite its size.

however there are quite a few local ordinances in Cali against knives of this size that I can't keep track of. it's never stopped me from carrying before, but lately it makes me think twice.

so second thought is my basic frn spyderco native. great in hand despite its diminutive size in pocket, the steel is more than enough for me. good for anything from going for a run or bike ride, to beating the tar out of doing construction or landscaping.

I suppose we all have different preferences. For me, it's not inconvenient at all. I also like to carry a Pocket Bushman, which has perhaps the most "inconvenient" lock on a folding knife, but it is also the strongest. I guess I'm just not bothered by it.

The Imperial Scout knife I had as a kid. It did everything a knife should do and I never really gave a shit about the steel, blade play, scales, jimping, detente,or anything else except that it worked.

I recently read somebody on the forum say the ergonomics for the PM2 were perfect for the human hand. After that, I looked at my PM2 in my hand and I think he s right. That would be my pick.

I love my Benchmades and CRK, but if I could only have one knife, it would have to be a Spyderco Military. It's light, carries well, has a good steel, and will do just about anything I need it too.
