One Pocket Knife For Life

My do all Davison. Custom exactly what I want and need just for me.

If you ever lose your damn mind I've got at least twenty bucks for that.

Good lord that's gorgeous, is it basically a custom, straight-handled Swayback Jack?

Perfect, absolutely flawless layout for an EDC slippie

For almost 20 years I carried a Benchmade Mini Griptilian. I now carry an Emerson Combat Kerambit. Both have served me extremely well. I used the Benchmade one evening many years ago, to help some street thugs reconsider their target of opportunity. By just watching my method of deployment they did a 180 and took off. :)

I imagine something like this.

oal ~7.5", slight negative angle, ~3" blade length, 1" tall, .1" thick, 1/2-2/3 high grind, spear point, half length top swedge, thumb hole opening, M2 hss @ 61-62, .960" tall handle, tapered butt, .420" thick, 3 screw construction + pivot, partially open, .05" SS liner lock, top stop pin, black g10 scales adjustable beefy pivot surface w/washers, pocket clip tip down.

Other than that, anything is good.

Any one of the Alox models below from Victorinox. They are really all most folks need.

Soldier
Pioneer
Farmer
Cadet
Pioneer X

If no multitools are allowed, i'd carry a Pacific Salt.

Has been my longest carried folder and still sits in my pocket every darn day. A true champion of the EDC world

Excluding any pliers-based multi-tool, like my Victorinox Spirit, I would probably go with one of my Victorinox SAKs.

For a single-bladed knife, my choice would be my large, plain CRK Insingo.

XM-18, 3" Wharncliff. It's the only folder I've carried since I got it. All my other folders just sit there on the shelf now. Great utility, construction, looks. Perfect in hand. Easy to take apart and maintain. Easy to customize. Solid. Perfect weight and pocket size. Love the choil and blade shape. Great clip too.

I've carried the Camillus/Ralph Cuda Maxx 5.5 since 2001, so I guess that would be my choice! BK2 for size reference.

I'm glad it is only one pocket knife, because I use my machete about as much as my edc folders. If I had to choose one pocket knife it would either be my Hoback A10 or my Ferrum Forge Deuce. That would be such a difficult choice though!!

If I had a Mini Grip, that would probably be my pick. I gave one to my son, and it quickly became his favorite carry. From what I have, I like to think that any one of the dozen or so knives I carry would serve. But I have been using Opinels the longest, in the neighborhood of 45 years. My No.8 isn't quite as old as my oldest ones, but it is the right size for me, and the handle has been trimmed a bit to ride better in my pocket, so that would be my pick.

I have plenty of screwdrivers and pliers, so no need for a multi or SAK.

My Benchmade 940 is what I carry the most, always go back to as my standard, and would carry if "there can be only one."

That is absolutely gorgeous! What is the second blade? So many custom slippies are single blades that I began thinking or believing that is all Davison makes. On the other hand, single blade slippies are thinner and probably more preferred.
