One thing that's locking up my IE6....

110K?

Wow.

Yes, in my opinion it is inappropriate and utterly inconsiderate to have a 110K signature line.

IMHO, I would ban images in signature lines entirely.

More bad news for you too.....since you keep whining and biatching...YOUR THE NEWEST ADDITION TO THE PIRATES COVE P**CKTARD LIST

Get a life..numerous people inspite of your whining have tried to help you but you still insist on griping about Rats sig line..

:thumbdn:
Oh no! What do people get now, who are on your Pirate's Cove P**cktard list, since you goons can no longer bomb folks with red chiclets, anonymously?

This seems a threat carried into action. Code3, can Mods and paying members make threats without consequences? Apparently so.

As for my suggestion about the HOSTS file being "booby-trapped", I wrote right in the message that it would block all images and everything else from that server. What did you not understand about this, you paranoid simpleton?
Ok, that's true, you did tell me that excluding http://xs40.xs.to/ in my HOSTS file would stop any and every file from http://xs40.xs.to/ showing upon my computer.

Where your "help" was booby-trapped is in taking the information about my IE6 freezing upon images hosted at http://xs40.xs.to/, and then starting to use a signature image hosted at http://xs40.xs.to/, apparently just to freeze my IE6. This is a knife forum, not a coin forum, so I'd conclude that your coins image also constitutes a "nonsense" signature image.

<dripping sarcasm>What a nice, helpful guy.</dripping sarcasm>

*Yawn*

Geothorn, my patience is again much thinner.

The individuals here who are 'piling on' are being taken care of in their forum.

This thread digressed into a flame war that should never have happened. Several people here, including me, have advised you steps to take while this issue is being researched. You have largly ignored our advice, and that is your right. However, it is also our paying members right to post sig lines, as long as the owner allows them. Your only recourse at this time is to disable signatures. If you do this, and be patient, the staff here will do what we can to rectify the problem, so your browser doesn't lock up. Continuing this flamefest is counterproductive, antagonistic, and a complete waste of time.

The rep system is gone. It is time to move forward.

Geothorn, we really dislike banning anyone here. However, you are becoming 'high maintenance', and we don't have time for that. We also don't tolerate lawsuit threats. Period.

Take the high road, and bow out of this thread. Like I said last night; you reported your trouble. You were told what your options were while this was being looked in to. Take heed to what was advised, and don't respond to the people who are antagonising you. All you are doing by commenting further is fanning the flames, and we have had enough.

To the other individuals in this thread; you know who you are. Please bow out, and let us handle the problem. Piling on geothorn for his disdain of the rep system, and his disdain for a few sig lines is not going to resolve any issues whatsoever.

Also, this thread has digressed into a whine and cheese thread , and some of you know what the consequences are for stirring stuff up outside of The Cove and W & C. Don't make the mods have to give a few people a vacation.

Thank you .

Actually I am now using a 20K sig line as kindly provided by Mr Koster, The old one was a jpg, the new is a gif.

IMO, I would expect people creeping along with dial-up to streamline their online experience as much as possible by disabling all signatures and avatars, regardless of their size.

EDIT: Thanks to NV, I have now switched to a minescule 6k image. Thanks NV.

Thank you for using a reduced-size signature image. It's no longer freezing up my IE6.
