Tough call between the BF or Charlie version. I may slightly prefer Charlie's, but if I hold out for that I'll surely miss it. Put in for the sure bet, and I know I'll be happy! And if Charlie's takes awhile to release, maybe I can get both.

The Ebony will be HJ-10, and won't be released for a while.

I are so confuzzed.

Will the only difference between a -9 and a -10 be the tang stamp/furniture (shield?), or is it too soon to say?

Pardon my memory, but who was the winner, aside from all of us, of the naming contest? I can live with Half Scout. Cub Scout knives are blue or white in my opinion, which is worth $.00😎. It is exciting to see a knife coming up in production, when you've had some input on it. 1st time forum knife guy, can you tell?

HJ-9:
- BF will have the Bladeforums stamp with 4 dots.
- It will have worm-groove Jigged Bone handles.
- It will have a square-cornered bar shield.
- PPP etch!

HJ-10:
- Northfield or Tidioute tang stamp
- Ebony Handles
- Blade etch
- round-end Bar shield (so the wood doesn't chip)
- will be more expensive (I make a little, and the dealers make a little more).

Not huge differences, but the BF/HJ-9 is the better deal!

What does the 4 dot's signify ?

In 2010 it was decided that the forum knives would have date stamps similar to the ones that Case uses. The 2010 knife had 10 dots and one dot is removed each year. The 4 dots signifies the year 2016.
