Well, it has become very difficult to get a nice two-blade knife made for under $100 anymore. With apologies to all of you, this Forum knife is going to be a bit more - but not too much more.
$115 will include the shipping to the continuous United States. Barry will let you who live further away, know how much the shipping will be.
The knife will have worm-groove, jigged bone handles, and have the deluxe construction of a single spring, with a blade and punch at opposite ends.
It should ride well in a pocket!
The front and back labels are under way, as the schedule has been bumped up!
And aawwayyyy we go!!!!!

Thanks for the update, Charlie. It's still a bargain considering what we're getting. Waiting anxiously....

I looked at the schedule and see your order with the Clip blade I voted for and with Ebony!!! Now you have me torn! I want a Forum knife for what it means, but your (Charlie) knife with the clip and ebony  that's the one I wish was the Forum knife!! Decisions, decisions. That is, IF I were even able to aquire one of those. This is going to be great!

Charlie,

Been reading this thread but I seemed to have missed details

What were the final decisions of what the knife will be
Is there anywhere to see a mockup of the knife

Thanks

Neeman

Thanks Neenan, I am a bit confused too and have some questions. Has it been clarified that there is both a clip and spear main per the production schedule, has the name been decided, and can we expect Gunstockjack's to stock both variants?

Edit: apologies, I misunderstood your question and gave an answer that would have appeared meaningless. I have been chatting too much to my infant son, I think.

Here you go guys, it's called the "Half Scout". (opposite spear main and punch on a single spring) The listing of a clip blade on GECs production schedule was just a misprint I believe. Also see posts #65 - 70 on page 4.

So a little more info on this year's knife; here are renderings of the engineering drawings:

Bill would like to make us some worm-groove handles. Here is an example of a Robeson of similar pattern. These are worn and faded. Our handles would have much denser jigging, with a rich brown color!!

Here is a drawing/comparison of the source for the #35 pattern!!!

The confusion lies in the GEC production schedule. There are two #35's listed. Both are NOT forum knifes only the one is.

The first is the Blade Forums Half Scout with spear blade and brown jigged bone. This is the "2016 forum knife" as discussed throughout this thread that will be fulfilled through Gunstock Jack's storefront.

The second is a separate Charlie C. SFO Half Scout with Clip point a spear and ebony wood, probably a much smaller quantity than the forum knife. Probably a different retail price, and it'll most likely be distributed via multiple dealer websites (assuming).

Although having the option to choose between the two would have been great for us, it would have been a logistical nightmare for the guys involved in making this year's knife a reality. That said, I will likely try to get one of each :o

note: Charlie has since explicitly confirmed the "clip Point" was an error on GEC production schedule and is in fact a spear point.

Guys, I'm waiting on the final drawings for the club knife. As soon as I have it, I will post it up and also open early sales on my website.

As to the ebony version; this knife won't be released until a later time TBD by Charlie - they will not be available with the club knife.

It won't be long now!

I'm ready! You've taken care of buying and shipping for all 3 years I've been in on this knife . . . :applouse: Thanks for all you've done for this community!

Never has a typo caused such havoc in my life!! Both knives will have spear blades. I love you all, but please stop emailing me trying to order a clip!!
The typo should be corrected today (I hope!).

I added the 150 Ebony HJs to fill out the order to 500 knives, the optimum order for pricing (for both knives!). We both get a break as a result.
The BF knife will be HJ-9.
The Ebony will be HJ-10, and won't be released for a while.

I cannot wait to get a BF2016 in my hot little racoon fingers!!

Yummy pictures(Cookie Monster voice). Definitely too much Sesame Street lately. I won't be able to get both, but man! ebony and clip do sound tempting, even tho' I lobbied for spear. What can I sell, what can I sell. Say any one want to buy some coastal land in Iowa? :D ;)
Thanks, Neal

Thanks for clearing that up Charlie. Gonna definitely try and spear both[emoji106][emoji380]
