Ongoing Details for the 2016 Bladeforums knife.

In 2010 it was decided that the forum knives would have date stamps similar to the ones that Case uses. The 2010 knife had 10 dots and one dot is removed each year. The 4 dots signifies the year 2016.

Excellent !!! Thanks for the info.
I love the square edge bar shield !! Great choice.

Woohoo! In like Flynn! Now I don't have to panic about missing the knife order for another 9 months! Thank you to everyone involved.

Not to get too off-topic, but Charlie, will your SFOs actually be clip bladed?

Here's Charlie's post from this morning addressing that question. (Short answer: No.)

Never has a typo caused such havoc in my life!! Both knives will have spear blades. I love you all, but please stop emailing me trying to order a clip!!
The typo should be corrected today (I hope!).

I added the 150 Ebony HJs to fill out the order to 500 knives, the optimum order for pricing (for both knives!). We both get a break as a result.
The BF knife will be HJ-9.
The Ebony will be HJ-10, and won't be released for a while.

I cannot wait to get a BF2016 in my hot little racoon fingers!!
:D:D:D:D:D:D:D

Woohoo! I got my order in for the 2016 knife. This really is something that I look forward to. I appreciate all the work that goes into making these knives happen, and I love having the opportunity to get my hands on one.

And a special than you to Railsplitter for sending me a heads up that the pre-ordering was open. :)

I ordered money last night.

It's funny. I've been on Bladeforums for almost forever, and this will be my first forum knife. Just put "Scout" in the name, and I'm drawn like a moth to a flame.

HJ-9:
- BF will have the Bladeforums stamp with 4 dots.
- It will have worm-groove Jigged Bone handles.
- It will have a square-cornered bar shield.
- PPP etch!

HJ-10:
- Northfield or Tidioute tang stamp
- Ebony Handles
- Blade etch
- round-end Bar shield (so the wood doesn't chip)
- will be more expensive (I make a little, and the dealers make a little more).

Not huge differences, but the BF/HJ-9 is the better deal!

Probably just a mix up on the image, but fyi - the GEC knife specs picture has a round end bar shield.

I think we might see a conventional Scout pattern very shortly on the #35 frame. Perhaps only wishful thinking but it would make sense considering this is a Half Scout.

My grail would be a 440C blade full scout pattern, based on the 35 frame, with canvas micarta scales. Maybe the old style can opener with shell extractor. Almost as awesome would be a 3-blade cub scout pattern. I guess I can dream.

I'd go with the forum knife, but with a cap lifter/flat head and a small hawkbill/pruning blade.

I ordered one yesterday. This will be a nice pocket sized folder with the single spring.
G.E.C. does a great job with the jigging and the scale color was a good choice.

My PayPal acct is a little lighter today. [emoji41] To everyone that worked on this project, thank you.
