Ongoing Details for the 2016 Bladeforums knife.

On a two bladed knife, I'd take a punch over a pen blade every time.
And the reason I say that is that in the 3.5"-4" knife range, I typically find a pen blade redundant. In other words, for the size knife I'm carrying, I can do pretty much anything with the main blade and typically never require something smaller. The punch adds a lot more versatility in my opinion. But as we all know, many of our favorite patterns are not always available with a punch as a choice.

Funny, Bob. I've often wondered why some knives have so many redundant blades. That's why I prefer a sheeps foot/pen or a spear point/coping set up, and one of the reasons I've talked myself out of moose patterns.

You guys are messing up my plans here, I'm trying to cross knives off my "get" list, not add more!

Oh boy like a kid waiting for Christmas morning. This will be the first Forum Knife I purchase.:D

I am thinking about getting one but not sure how the worm groove will turn out. I wonder when we get to see a sample.

Also need to cull some out. Too many purchases lately so some will have to go.

The worm-groove bone has me sitting on the fence, too, but this knife has so many other great features I don't think I could pass it up.

This just in! A worm groove sample! Note that this is NOT the final color!!
It has some stain on it so we can see the grooves;

The grooves will vary because they are hand cut!!
Remember, that this is not the final color!
It will be a darker Chestnut!

Thanks Charlie! Those look excellent. This will check three things off my list..my first worm groove, first scout pattern, first forum knife.

How will the depth of the worm-groove affect the inletting of the bar shield?

great jigging and worm groove! Will the worm groove be a little more random than that pictured in the samples?
Dan

The jigging looks outstanding, and I'm sure the worm groove will also. I am assuming it would be knocked down a little in final shaping.

Great stuff. This one still makes me kick my self over and over for not voting for the GEC forum knife last year. Wish they would still come out with that knife too.

Nice - thanks Charlie!

Even though I know that is not the final color, those covers look great!

best
