Ongoing Details for the 2016 Bladeforums knife.

It's more yellow than I had pictured, but I can get used to it. Love the shield.

It's worm groove....have you never lifted up a big rock and seen the grooves in the dirt underneath??

Trails left by wood worms.

The worm groove name is modern. I suspect the grooves were originally intended to make the bone look more like stag. It was originally known as "Rogers Indian Trail" bone.

There is no such thing as "worm groove" bone.
That is a misnomer for Rogers Indian Trail bone, as used by Cattaraugus.

"Worm groove" is a con-man misnomer for Rogers Bone Co's "Indian Trail" bone jigging pattern -- one of many that Rogers offered. Mainly used by Cattaraugus....Con-man names pick up a much bigger following than actual industry trade names, just as far more people buy fakes than buy real knives.
Old stuff was made to appeal back then. Con man stuff is intended to appeal now. And it does.

This just in! A worm groove sample! Note that this is NOT the final color!!
It has some stain on it so we can see the grooves;

The grooves will vary because they are hand cut!!
Remember, that this is not the final color!
It will be a darker Chestnut!

Charlie :)

OK, now I'm excited :) the covers look great and as far as a punch blade goes, I use mine a s a scribe a lot ,startin' and reamin' holes in tin or sheetrock, trimmin'/deburrin' PVC pipe, scrapin' gaskets, ice pick, fingernail cleaner, openin' clam packs.... the list is endless.

:distracted::nevreness::applause:Beautiful! I'm already checking the mailbox with anticipation!

I would have to say mission accomplished  This knife has all the makings of a resurrected classic.

Are those brass pins and liners or nickel.

I have become quite the all steel snob these days. They do look a lot better than I was expecting which is bad.

I'd say so Stone Beard.

Shameless opportunity to post a farmers jack.

Cattaraugus Indian grooves. Grin. Sorry I had to do it Jake.

Even better than I had anticipated!

I have been carrying my previous BF Forum Knives in succession the past couple weeks, today I have the 2011 #85. I hope to get to the 2015 knife just about the time the 2016 beauty shows up!

best

Haha!! :D nicely done and a very fine example of some excellent jigging and classic Indian grooves. That one is a real beauty:thumbup:

Thanks,I sometime have a problem with humor timing, but I mostly enjoy it. And it is always meant to be harmless.

I couldn't decide on Indian grooves or Worm trails.
