Ongoing Details for the 2016 Bladeforums knife.

I'd like to reiterate my support for the Case-style flat/beveled punch.

(Didn't we have this conversation already? :D)

I feel like we've already heard about the Little Valley Punch. I think it's great! Much more utilitarian than some of the others. I'm really looking forward to this knife. Thanks Charlie!

I like the look of that one and the one that Tsar posted, and would be good with either!

I never use a punch on a knife. For leather I have a much more practical tool. And to mark holes to be done I use an awl.
So I'll take whatever shape that come and enjoy the knife too!

Where do I place an order? :D

Seriously, the design is appealing and the punch looks efficient. Please keep it bare head

Mike

This will be my first forum knife (if it is anything like what is pictured). Very nice! Thanks Charlie. Like the flat looking punch

I'll go for it however it comes out. But that one looks pointy, which I like.

Whaddaya Think???

I like it

The addition of a needle hole will prove useful.

I like it, Charlie! Looking forward to this one.

I'd agree with leghog -- a needle hole (or some kind of notch to "nock" a string?) would be very cool on such a needle-like punch, as long as it doesn't weaken the punch too much. I would certainly find uses for it

Thanks for the update, Charlie!

The punch I photographed is from a Medium Stockman, and may be different than the one used on the scout. It's actually pretty much flat stock, not rounded at all. I'd say it looks very close to the proposed punch, but with the nail nick on the other side. It's not necessarily the best punch for making holes in leather, but I've found it to be strong and useful for many tasks: scraping, light prying, opening clamshell packaging, spearing grapes.......

Oops. My bad. So many punches to keep track of when you're a scout pattern collector.

Here is the Case Punch Stockman in yellow delrin, next to an orange G-10 Junior Scout. The scout has a very rounded punch, although both punches are very similar on the other side.

Not as substantial, but it reminds me of the punch on one of my grandfather's old knives...that's reason enough for me to like it.

Looks good to me.

I like the pointier punches, as I mainly use mine, if there, for stabbing those little squares of cheese, or a grape, or grape tomato.
