Ongoing Details for the 2016 Bladeforums knife.

Nature Boy- great knife, looks like a user for sure, love the patination on it even if some is red( I can't tell except in person due to partial color blindness ), but great harness jack!😎👍🏿

Thanks Neal! No red, probably just the cell pic and poor lighting when I took it last night. Like all of my grandfather's tools, it was well used, and well taken care of - still in great shape.

I like this a lot, it's getting into marlin spike territory, which would be more useful to me than a thin, sharp punch as proposed.

Not as substantial, but it reminds me of the punch on one of my grandfather's old knives...that's reason enough for me to like it.

Just bumping this because I don't get to hop on the 'forums that often and making sure I don't miss the ordering period. What's the status looking like Charlie and Co.?

After the Rendezvous, we will go full speed ahead.
I want to get an example or two of handle material up for discussion!
Patience my friends. I will make a lot of noise, so no one misses out!
There will be a limit of 350 knives, so be prepared!!

Only 350!!!

I'll take 'em! :D:D:D Thanks Charlie!

O'course, I won't have 'em for long! :)

Thanks Charlie. I'm not used to things going so smoothly. I was afraid I was missing out on the chaos.

It was indeed closer to 350 knives last year.

So a little more info on this year's knife; here are renderings of the engineering drawings:

Bill would like to make us some worm-groove handles. Here is an example of a Robeson of similar pattern. These are worn and faded. Our handles would have much denser jigging, with a rich brown color!!

Here is a drawing/comparison of the source for the #35 pattern!!!

Thanks Charlie! I know some people have expressed concern about the worm groove handles being done "right", but if anyone can do it right, it's going to be GEC! Is brown the definite color?

Brown has many variations. Certainly don't go by the color of the letters in my message above!!

I am asking for one of those nice colors you find on an old Remington knife, but that is easier said than done!

The closest GEC has come is their antique yellow, IMO.

Looking great, Charlie!

best
