Something interesting.


I slightly resharpened and increased the sharpening degree for the Pig Sword.

(A bit more polished on 80/63 microns. This is 550-600x magnification)

I combined the tip geometry. I’m not sure how clear it is under the microscope, but the tip ends up being something like a square transitional geometry.


Usually this kind of sharpening is done for thrusting blades that aren’t meant to cut like a regular knife, but specifically to stab.


The direction of the pattern on the cutting edge is also oriented for a thrusting strike, or penetration into the material.

Have you ever tried differential grit sharpening (dual-grit edge)? It's pretty cool. Although, I would probably only do it on pocket knives or small fixed blades
