Ontario Utilitac II - Best modern folding knife under $30?

I hope you don't mind man but in soon as I get my acetylene tank refilled I'm gonna anodize my liners too , that looks freakin awesome!

It does look cool but you can't anodized steel I assume the liners are steel and just heat will not anodized aluminium.

Nomenclature- The term used to be "heat/flame (dis)coloring", over time the term changed to "heat/flame anodizing", sure its not true electrical anodizing from a scientific sense but the term's can be interchanged and it's widely accepted to mean coloring metal without any sort of applied coating, be it heat "anodizing" steel or Ti or true electrical anodizing Ti/Al.

But we're getting a little nit-pickey arnt we...

Regarding late lock up. I just ordered a black in black rat 1 and pink on black rat 2 and it has the same like 80% lockup, maybe it's done on purpose now? Doesn't Chris reeve have a fairly late lockup on the new sebenzas?

Calling on a favor from everyone who has benefited from this thread, or just loves UT2's. I'm trying to get OKC to offer the UT2 with the same colors as the RAT line (or tan and green atleast). Please go to this page and ask them to consider it!

A tan coffin gripped UT2 tanto would give me a chubby. :D

Damn, can you imagine that tan handle with an acid etched/stonewashed blade? Or even the OD green? I'm on it, buddy!

Nice vid, man. Here's a quick shot I took outside Bass Pro Shop. My wife was kind enough not to call me names as I told her to wait for me to get the right shot :D

As far as I am concerned she should have known what she was getting into when she said "I do" at the wedding. It's the only logical explanation for why some of us are still married with how crazy we are about our knife hobby. And BTW good picture, I am always impressed by a lot of the pictures people take on this site is there a knife photography course we put on that I don't know about or something?

Haha good point! I even bug my wife to send pictures of knives I get in the mail while I'm still at work :D I just can't wait to see what's waiting for me at home.

And thank you for the compliment, Bob-o! Every now and again I'll snap a decent pic, but you're right, there are some dudes on the forum who should be working for magazines or something. There's an awful lot of talent on here.

^^ I hate your pic's! Always so green and colorful, here its grey and dreary, grey sky, brown plants, no leaves...

It's been a few days since anyone's posted anything. Hope the 'Tacs are keeping y'all happy. I gave my Kershaw Mini Cyclone a rest today and threw my Utilitac in my pocket. Was able to snap this pic really quick:

Round handle tanto (cause no one really likes recurve's), coated or not is up to you. To me it's more comfy than the coffin handle.

I need to get one of these things some day. Which model would you recommend if I was only going to have one?

Round handle with satin blade recurve. If you have the ability to sharpen your knives the recurve wont be an issue  cause honestly, no one likes Tantos ;)

I don't like tanto's, at all, I just happen to like recurve's less and between the two, for this particular knife, I take the lesser of the two evil's as my personal choice.

I also try not to take shots at people on internet chat forums. I can more then hold my own when it comes to sharpening, have a look threw my recent post history for some examples of my freehand work... Obviously tho because I make a stupid remark about certain shape of blade it must mean I'm not capable of sharpening a knife. :thumbdn:
