Ontario Utilitac II - Best modern folding knife under $30?

Oh yeah, he's vicious haha.

So I still can't believe the action on this thing. No bs, I've got the pivot at that sweet spot where my blade does the PM2 drop as I disengage the liner lock. Anyone else's does this?

it was modified when i got it, love this knife will never leave my collection, first production run to boot lol

Whoa! Last time you posted was page 1. Good to see you still feel positive about the knife. By the way, who did those scales?

Also ordered one because of the thread... although it was a modified tanto satin... now I kind of also want the recurve drop point satin. And a black one...

lol yeah sometimes i forget to check the forums lol. I honestly don't know got the knife exactly as it is. they are done well and give it a nice look

another pic

ya man. I did this one myself with a dremel, it sucked bad but finally managed to make it work. this is how the knife should have been made to begin with

Oh, it's a cuddly little stuffed doll that latches onto your kid's seat belt. When they eventually knock out the seat pet's big head and soft body give your kid support as they sleep. Sorry for rambling. I feel like such a dad haha.
SEAT PETS SEAT PETS BUCKLE UP AND SNUGGLE UP! haha, fellow dad here...

Yes mine has that action as well...although it's a little dangerous to do w/o the compression lock lol.

Well guys, I received both of my Utilitacs in today and they are awesome!

If someone handed me one of these knives and told me they paid fifty bucks for it I wouldn't have thought they got ripped off.

Unbelievable F an F for the price.

Both of mine came really sharp, lock up tight in every direction, and most impressively still have buttery smooth action.

I'll post back with pics after I get some use with them.

Hey guys I got some free time tomorrow I've got some mods planned for one of my utilitac's. Gonna cut a wave and maybe do a little grinding on the blade too. Check in tomorrow night for pic's.

Sweet

I think I may try to take the recurve out of one of mine. Shouldn't be too hard with my work sharp KO. I'll post pics if/when I do as well...

That's the nice thing about these knives; use them, mod them, abuse them...they're tough! I took mine apart (a dangerous thing for me, as I usually can't put things back together) and cleaned up the insides a bit. The knife is much smoother on both opening and closing now. The liner lock is almost too solid, but I would play with that. I'm thinking of buying a black bladed model now for formal occasions ;)

Haha fetzer for the win! I always sing the song incorrectly to piss my daughter off :D

And I know exactly what you mean. It landed on my thumbnail, but still kinda freaked me out haha.

Can't wait to see what you come up with, CK!

I bought the clip point with contoured handles a few weeks ago. Today I ordered the tanto with coffin handle and I don't even like tanto! Something about this one appeals to me. Not to mention the extreme value these represent. I certainly hope Ontario expands it's folder lineup.

Coffin handled tanto is where it's at for me! I would have to agree. Ontario has put out some pretty awesome blades.
