Opinion on transaction where knife arrived damaged

I know plenty of really busy makers who still find time to fix their knives (whether free or for a fee). Maybe it was the way it was worded, but that seemed a little rude. Regardless, Josh is going to get that thing in top shape. He did a chop job on my mako that looks like it came straight from Mr. Gavac himself.

That is not a hard fix at all . Especially for someone who works with a lot of steel . What really stinks is a the unnecessary travel and time waiting . But I have had a few knives get a tip damaged in transport over the years . Most often the damage can't be explained but easily fixed and returned to buyer .

I got the knife back from Josh at REK today. The tip has been restored, and it is quite sharp. The spine does widen a bit going towards the tip, but I'm sure getting around that would have been much more than the $17 he charged. Overall, I'm happy with the result.

Wow, can't believe Avigil, brushed this off..

I feel like he hurt his own reputation here.

Glad josh fixed you up.

Great outcome to a poor start. Hopefully this does not keep you from using it. Josh did a wonderful job of bringing it back to it's original shape.

Service after the sale is part of the package for me. If that's how I'd be treated in the event of a problem, I won't recommend or purchase his knives. Bummer, I've been close to purchasing his knives in the past, talented guy.
