Opinions Needed: "Traditionalist" T-Shirts

What about a folksy image for the back of the shirt?

-It could be a silhouette of a group of kids playing mumbletypeg and maybe even one kid pulling the peg:D.

-An guy doing some whittling on an old porch

-A trapper making traps in the wilderness, or maybe he could be cooking up a freshly caught critter.

-Some guys fishing a river with one guy doing something with a knife.

...Just brainstorming here...

I'm not getting a warm fuzzy from it, but I'm not going to judge it until someone posts up a shirt with one of those designs on it, if you can post up an image that you'd like I should be able to get it on a shirt for you, but now I have very little experience with photoshopping or editing, so it'd be up to you or someone to get the picture your looking for, and IMO to find a folksy scene that you could put on the back of a shirt to incorporate traditional knives without it making the shirt look cluttered or over done, may be a little difficult.

Thanks for that most recent one, hw! Perfect, imho!

Ash, do we have to decide/vote on one color only, or will we be able to choose from two or three or more colors?

If there is enough interest I'm hoping to have a run just like WS&S is doing. That would give you multi color shirts to choose from and logo color. I know I'm all for gray with an orange logo. So hopefully we can do multi colors. Hope that helps!

I like these but would prefer the grey shirt.

Would the economics of the thing allow both black and grey to be produced?

Gus and I are leaving this to you folks to choose but here's a quote from Spark in reply to my PM yesterday which you should take into consideration in your deliberations:

"I can certainly put up a shirt for sale. My suggestion is that you guys come up with a simple, agreed upon logo. The more colors it is, the more expensive it will be - that's the reason why the W&SS logo is a single color; multiple screens = more money. If you guys can come up with an agreed upon logo, I can have shirts run up no problem. Best pricing comes if we can get more than 200 shirts ordered. If it's less than that, the shirt prices tend to go up."

Carry on...

Thanks for the input Elliot  ,
I vote we let this thread run for a few days and then gather up some of the logos and have a poll or two, then once we got the logo settled a poll for the color.

Like that one gajinoz, or with blue lettering?

That one looks fine. Blue lettering would look nice too but not a huge deal.

I'm also happy to go with the black too if that's how it pans out but it would be interesting to see if it would be viable to have both black and grey.

It would also be interesting to see the relative costs of the shirt for different numbers ordered. 200 might be a bit of an ask, so how much more for say, 100?

Pricing cannot be determined until we have a logo picked out. I think we should be able to do both a black and gray run. As time goes on and things are narrowed down I will be in touch with Spark about pricing.

I can't believe I missed this yesterday. I like the idea & understand not wanting a front pocket. A simple silhouette is a good idea. The Stockman idea's not bad. A Trapper would work, too. I kind of prefer the Trapper. I also like "Traditionalist" over it.

Ashley,

Do you know what quality shirts your planning on using? Personally I prefer a 100% cotton premium heavy weight tee shirt. For me , the shirt itself could be a determining factor, if and how many I were to order.

Hi Ken,

As of now I have no details like that. I will keep this in mind as I get a better idea of if this is going to be a go. Thank you much for the input. I had never even thought about that.

Also Ken if you let me skip a few people on your waiting list and say do my custom now I'll make sure is 100% cotton! :D J/K

My thinking on the circular logo with the stars is that if we continue this through the years we can eliminate a star every year like case does. Just a thought.

I figured you was going for something like that, an I personally like it, :D of course I also like the "traditionalist" on the top but I don't see that going over, tough crowd here ;)

:D I was actually referring to the peanut toters, they scare the crap out of me, but sure I'll go a long with that.

"Traditional Folders and Fixed Blades" takes up a lot more space than "2010", I tried putting in under "BLADEFORUMS" but it looked cluttered, if you can come up with any ideas on where you'd like it placed I'm all ears.

I see what you are saying about the size, 2010 is a good option.
I am just glad it's in black! I like the way it's in cursive over the knife...looks good!

Great Idea...I like the TRADITIONALIST on the back...but maybe with a very slight curve ( as in a unhappy mouth )...not too much.
Also...before going to press with the shirts...I think that if you see an artist..and get them to create a black silhouette of a folder...( on a light coloured background/ vise versa?.....they can do some amazing stuff...
I will be most defintaly into a couple of these-so if you are taking notes on how many-bang another couple of ticks on there for me....lets give New Zealand something to think about!!

Some nice ideas! I am a very simple person and not crazy about stuff on the back so here is my attempt.
