I`ve been working on a more "budget minded" knife. It`s made from 1/8" 1095 convex ground, 3 1/4" blade, and 7 1/4" overall. To keep costs down, I`ve gone with a simple linseed oil finished oak handle. I plan on pricing this one quite reasonable. What do you guys think, will it make a good addition to my line?

Thanks
John

John, that is gorgeous! Blade length to handle is perfect! I really like the belly on the handle. The linseed oiled handle finish is outstanding. I'm a big fan of oiled handles, let the natural color and grain show, especially linseed + oak = excellent.

I also plan on doing a drop point model, but I`ve got a thing for upswept blades, so I did this one first.

Nice, I like that one! It's cool to see more oak used on knife handles.

I agree totally with that. My favorite woods are Hickory, Walnut, Maple and Oak. Seems like Hickory and Oak get the least amount of use, it is great to see some oak out there! Love it John

I like the look of that, and the idea of it being reasonably priced. Nice work!

That looks Nice, have you came up with a price for the drop point model yet & what do you call it ?

I call it the Budget Hunter. The drop point will be the same price as this one, but I don`t think I should be posting prices here. I`m putting this in the FS section now.

That's "the stuff," John.
I get more use out of knives that size than all others combined.
Glad to see a drop-point in the works.

That thing rocks man! I should have grabbed it before waiting to ask questions. A 3.5" or 3.75" would be even cooler. :D

Hurry up and make more... keep the up-swept blade.

OK, here is a handle shot.

And one in hand ( I know, with hands like this I should be a model)

Thumbs up on the upswept point blade, I like them a lot as well. That's why almost all my knives are getting to be drop point or upswept point.

looks like an SBT sans the scandi grind. the knife looks great man, functional and easy on the eyes. :)

could us W&SS members get a "ballpark" price? just a rough estimate as to how much the knife will cost. if you comboed it with a leather sheath with plastic/kydex liner i think it'll be a hit. I know i'll want one for sure :D

Looks great, John! I'm a big fan of drop points myself, so I'll definitely be buying one off you when they come out.
