That is really sweet!
While I don't have one as an EDC, after thinking I'd lost a black mini-Griptilian some years back, I picked up one in yellow. I'd been convinced I left the black one at a campsite and just didn't see it when I packed up. A year later, my son found it in the camping van where it fallen into a hidden crevice. Orange is perfect for outdoor use knives as the color stands out against most terrain. So setting it down it's more easy to spot vs. a black or brown handle knife.Am I wrong to think that blaze-orange knives are a relatively new phenomenon? Like, that they’ve become really popular in the last year or two?
When I first started seeing them, I thought it would be a short-lived fad for sure. It’s now clear that I woefully misjudged the market. Orange knives seem to be here to stay.
I guess I understand the appeal to hunters, but I don’t get why anyone else would want one.
Am I completely alone on this? Anyone else a little baffled by the popularity of orange knives?
Or really great! Really makes that beautiful wood stand out.Blaze orange liners can look ok…

I like the look of this one. Cool photo too.Like others have mentioned, black handled folders have always flooded the market, orange is, well, different and I will say a little more maintenance prone to keep clean, but there is a following for sure

I dig that fixed blade. Is that the Northeast Knives one you mentioned?I have quite a few orange handled knives. I got my first off this forum back in 2006 or 2007. It was made by Lamont Coombs and Scott Tanguay as Northeast Knives. I bought it for hiking in the desert, easy to find and it proved to be the right choice. That knife is still in my Jeep and gets to go hiking and off roading. My EDC is a Para 2 Wharncliiffe in orange, just works for me. I have other orange knives by Jason Knight, Scott Sibert, MrZorg and Spyderco.
