Just use a sharpie to mark your bevel so you can see where you are hitting with your stone. That will eliminate the fustration of knowing if you are sharpening all the way to the apex ( very end of the edge ).
I will do. I've heard that recommended a lot so it can't hurt not too. Another question :o. So, if I sharpie the whole edge, and say I start sharpening at a 25 degree angle (not inclusive), and the only thing I'm hitting is the shoulder, that means I'm sharpening at too shallow of an angle and I should move to something like a 20 degree angle?

Wouldn't you go to a higher degree?

I've done that a couple of times.
Well maybe I'm turning into a rebel and I don't want to be the role model anymore. I'll live all by myself.

Fine! Then I get your superglue collection!

Actually if you are hitting the shoulder at 25 degrees you would want to increase your angle to say like 30 degrees. Unless you want to reprofile your edge to the 25 degrees completely. Every Kershaw I have had has been 20 degrees per side or lower though. If you run into any trouble feel free to post some pictures. I, and others, would be glad to help. Sharpening just takes practice like any other thing. Sports, music ect.

Ahh, increase the angle. I got confused. My brain is fried from baseball today. When I do get into some trouble, I'll make sure to ask you guys. You guys don't get very frustrated (at least from what I can tell). You are all very nice people.

Yeah I feel the same way. I just shake my head when I look back at them. I like to periodically go back and re-read a couple pages of that thread.

Than is a comparison. I like ice cream more THAN cake.
Then is mostly used for something to do with time. I woke up, THEN I brushed my teeth.
Oh well. Cry me a river, build a bridge, and get over it. I've used THEN in every assignment that involves writing and I haven't had a teacher tell me the difference ONCE!
