Again, late to the party, snowing hard here.

Regarding 90's Jeeps, what you have to watch out for is the transfer case. The 249 has a viscous coupler that needs work at around 125K miles. It's full time 4WD and only selectable between 4H - N - 4L. One way to check for the coupler problem is to turn all the way to the left or right, and go in a circle while checking for wheel hop. Other than that part and the rear drum brakes, the Jeeps are solid.

I lined up against a Lightning once, at Englishtown. I slept at the light, but he was still faster nonetheless. He had a supercharger and was tubbed on some monster slicks. Video is very grainy and shaky, was uploaded from my friend's iPhone.

Regarding the 249 case it isn't found in many cherokees ever. They 99 percent of the time have the 231 or the 242 case. The grand cherokees have the 249. I know because I just replaced my 249 wih a 242!

Looks like ill be chilling with this guy tonight :D.

TIs time for me to buy a new knife, Ive been eye'ing the zt 0700, but I also really want a 0200. Also been thinking I need a zt 0150 I just dont know what to do. Can the order help sway me one way or the other.

I'm telling you, apply pressure to the side of the blade while open and unscrew the pivot while held that way.

On a side note, the Yuengling I left outside on my deck is nice and cold !

Yeah right. I think we all know what kind of residue it is. ;):D
Wall spackle?

I did that. It didn't work. What side do I apply pressure? The lock side or the other? I've been applying it to the other side. Also the Zing is really loose. A lot of blade play, and opens real quickly.

either side will do, the idea is to apply lateral pressure to the pivot by doing this so that it keeps it from spinning. Works for the round-ended pivots without the D-keyed scales.

you might also want to heat up the tip of a phillips screwdriver (not your torx driver) and touch it to the pivot screw head to loosen up any loctite.

I applied REALLY hot water beforehand, then aired it out with a blow dryer.

Get a piece or rubber and lay it on something the size of the pivot hex, a nut will work. Press real hard with the torx driver and unscrew it, worked for me. As gooeyetek said you may need heat to deal with locktite.

I tried that too. Screw it (hehe see what I did there?) I'm sending it to Kershaw.

Come on you wuss! Use a hair dryer and get it good and hot and make it happen you can dooo it. Also seems like I read where scale aren't warranted. Besides it is a user so it should look like one.
