I probably seems odd. But I dabble in a "pro" style of Yoyo'ing. Here is a video to illustrate. The yoyo he is using is a aluminum yoyo with titanium weight rings bonded to it. It ran $460. They are CNC milled. Real state of the art stuff.

Watching Man with the Iron Fists. Pretty awesome if your in to kung fu movies. My other hobbies outside of knives are mainly shooting, hunting, and outdoorsy stuff. I used to be big into modding cars and such but that got way to expensive.

That made me laugh. Knotty out there chopping with a little 3" blade :D. So guys. What are some of your other hobbies outside of knives?

Hmm. Collecting wise, antique cameras, mini liquor bottles, vinyl records, bottle openers/keychain tools and some old comics left over from a collection bug a while ago. Hobby wise, modding my Civic, maintenance on the MG, crewing for my buddy and his Dad on their SCCA race cars.

SCCA is alot of fun. I dabled in that a little with my Acura and Suby.

That's pretty incredible Steeley! How do these yo yo's sleep so long? I'm thinking the string must have something to do with it.

My at this point in my life my other therapy is flying my hang glider, one of the most special things a person can do. I know most people don't like to fly in anything let alone control 70lbs of wing while hanging below it. Those of us that had flying dreams at a young age feel lucky to have a machine that comes close to what goes on in the dreams.

Todays modern hang gliders are very safe and docile. The distance record is 575 miles.

The Hang gliding is awesome! That would be really fun. My dad and I always thought an Ultra Light would be cool to own.

The yoyo's are actually done in halves now with an axle. They are able to sleep so long because the string sits on a bearing that is seated in between the two halves.

One of my favorite companies General Yo is done by a guy who, if I remember correctly, does aerospace machining as his job. The whole point of yoyo's now is to machine them with zero vibration and a good feel when throwing them.

I watched The Man With the Iron Fists the other day too, turned out to be pretty good.

Interests outside of knives...
I used to be really into PC gaming, not so much anymore. I still build custom gaming systems though, and run my own computer consulting company. I also do home theater installs for some of my clients if it ties in to their computer and network needs.
I was in the Army ROTC rifle team during college, and still go out to the range from time to time. Thinking of getting my pistol permit.
Drag and roadcourse racing, doing tweaks to the car in the offseason.
I fish whenever I can.

Knives are my passion. I don't have that many hobbies other than studying, admiring and making knives but one of my other hobbies is playing guitar. Music is my life along with knives. Couldn't live without it really.

It's been a *very* long time since I've yo-yo'd. I remember we used to stick small glowsticks in the Pro-Yo's and do tricks in the dark. The high tech yo-yo's of the day were the Pro-Yo with a wood axle (those were really smooth), and a clear pink one with a plastic axle (sort of like the blue one below, but sans the auto-return mechanism). I think it was called the "Outrageous". It wasn't as smooth as the wood axle Pro-Yo, but with a dab of Vaseline, it would sleep for a long time... getting a bit nostalgic...

I think the yoyo makes a come back at some point in everyone's school career. When I was in 6th grade we were all into it. These days I play a little video games PC or PS3, like shooting if I have the time and some extra money. I enjoy driving it relaxes me but honestly between work, a girlfriend, and this hobby I spend a lot of my down time watching tv and dozing off to nap time lol.

I used to yoyo as well. I had a couple, Yomegas were big when I was young. I actually have a pro yo made by the company Custom Products, who makes paintball parts. They machine them from aluminum, and they're killer pieces. I'd like to see some vids of your tricks there Steel

For fun, I play paintball and make YouTube videos about gear and the paintball subculture. I've been making knife videos, but really to show off my obsession with Kershaw.

My life however, revolves around music and literature. I've been a drummer for over ten years, and up until a year ago, played semiprofessionally in the session scene in NY. I love drums, more than I love anything else. I live for music, I breathe it every day and to me there's little more important. Right behind it is literature, and I read almost as much as I practice my drumming exercises.

Lastly, I dig Broadway. I love show tunes, and the wife and I go to Broadway shows almost every week.

So what genres of literature do you like stick? I am assuming serious stuff since you are obsessed with literature and not "reading". I am a die hard Stephen King fan myself.

I love music too. I will try and do a video of some tricks once I have gotten practiced up a bit. I have not thrown for about half a year. But I have a lot of the muscle memory still. I like going to plays, I was in highschool drama every year until I graduated. That was always a lot of fun.

I would love to get into paintballing. I just need some other people to do it with. We actually have a really large course, if I remember right it is like 50 acres of playing. Speedball course, a woods course, and then a king of the hill course where they built a giant castle. What kind of gun setup do you run Stick?

Most of todays yoyos are made out of 6061 aluminum. Although some have now ventured into titanium ( not cheap ) and 7071 aluminum. Also crazy ano's are the name of the game.

Hunting, fishing, hiking, running, most competitive sports! I love being dad but thats a job not a hobby ;)! I love dabbling in almost anything to learn how it works and what it takes to do it. My wife and I make slate paintings, wine bottle candles, redneck wineglasses, etc... I used to be int collecting budwieser holiday steins but have waned off them for awhile now. One of my favorite things is to collect bic clic pens! I will ask anybody and everybody I see carrying them if i can have it! I think I had over 200 last time I looked.
