I did this and screwed in the pivot and the body screws, but the pivot housings still popped out like in the photo, but it's not popped out as far. The blade is off-center and barely touching the liner now.

I think I may have figured it out. The female pivot has a portion on the shaft part that is ground flat. The non locking scale should have an area that fits the flat portion. They make them like that so the pivot doesn't turn when you adjust it.

All this talk about going black intrigued me. I went black everyone and I don't think I'm going back.

Speekin bout the bay, that spyker looks pretty cool.

ANd I'm winning a 2415 ST and wold like to keep it that way.:eagerness:

So it was flush until you started to screw the male pivot in?

Everything on the locking side scale was perfect. I had the non-locking side scale a little bit out, so when I went to screw everything in, the scale would be forced to "lock" into place. Everything worked except the pivot housing popped out when I started to screw the pivot screw in. I think I might just send it into Kershaw.

I'll try it.

Do you know where the flat portion would be on the non-locking side scale?

I hear yo jive turkey!

Knotty, it would go back together correctly if you didn't put it back together with super glue...

Isn't that what the ladies always say? ;)

I like the black skin for reading at night; easier on the eyes. One thing I do NOT like about it is that lowly registered users (:p) looks like Platinum members! :thumbdn:

Knotty I had the same problem with a cryo but I can't for the life of me remember the solution. Seems I couldn't see the flat portion of the pivot and when I put stronger reading glassed on I was able to see it and figured out how it went back together. Sorry I am old and recall plum evades me.

There was a thread here in the Kershaw forum a few months ago with pictures of the sequence of how the washers need to be installed.
